QBs don’t get huge contract extensions if they’re part of the problem. It takes a solid team to win a championship. Dan Marino was 8-10 in the playoffs. Warren Moon was 3-7 and Dan Fouts was 3-4. All were first ballot Hall of Famers and none of them won a Super Bowl. Only Marino reached a Super Bowl. There’s been some very average QBs win Super Bowls because they had great teams around them. Dude it takes a TEAM. If you throw everything on your QB in postseason, they’re going to fail and you will lose. The Cowboys haven’t won a single championship where their QB had to carry them.
We have a team, its why we can consistently make the playoffs but the problem is we don't have a QB who performs well against high level competition. Marino at least made the HOF, Dak will never sniff the hall at this rate let alone an NFCCG

Our team doesn’t play well in the playoffs or against high-level competition during the regular season. Did our defense against Green Bay the playoffs look as good as it did yesterday? lol Our defense looked like garbage against Green Bay. Our QB isn’t the problem. If some of you want to keep bellyaching about him, go ahead. He’s been extended, you might as well deal with it.

We've had our chances against other teams not named Green Bay but it was the offensive continually making considerably more mistakes then a worn out defense. Dak is here for another 5 years and the problems of yesterday and today will resurface in years to come. Sad reality is the league is lacking great qb play so good qb's get paid elite moneyt

Your opinion only.
What opinion? Dak is the only player in the NFL that gets top dollars with a no trade/no tag clause. Basically, Dak robbed the Cowboys like a Fox in a hen house and thats not good. Jerry fully caved in to Dak's demands.

Funny how the two biggest Dak bashers didn’t show up as usual because we won yesterday. They never show up after a win, but they claim they’re fans of the team. However, when the Cowboys lose they’re on here posting every few minutes.

Who knows. I’m sure both sides played a role in the delay though.
I tend to think the Cowboys had no sense of urgency in signing both Dak and Lamb because they had no desire to create cap room to sign FAs given their aversion to signing anyone of true value in FA.

They love to cry cap poor as their justification for not being active in FA so signing Lamb and Dak would have created way too much cap space for them to pretend they couldnt' afford outside FAs.

Didn’t read through 10 pages of posts….so apologies if posted already.

-May as well give the guy a NTC. You don’t sign him with the idea of trading him. If it becomes time for each to move on, you deal with that later. No tag is fair. They did that to him twice. He was holding all the cards. Yes, he was. He would have had at least 4-6 suitors in FA, while the team didn’t have a single suitable replacement.

-For some perspective, take a look at the NYG. They spent a top 10 pick on Daniel Jones, and are paying him 40 million per. The guy flat out can’t play. Next year they will be starting over yet again, and that may or may not work out.

Honestly, it’s a WAY better bet that Dak figures it out in January than getting on that train ride that could last a LOT longer than one might think.

If you let Dak walk the only logical direction is a full rebuild. Do any of you really think the rest of this roster is at that point? They aren’t.

I’ve never been a big Dak fan or supporter, and I’m pissed at him as well for some past performances, but this situation is the better of two less than ideal scenarios.

Another big blow to the Dak haters.
It's not a blow to the haters, it's a blow to anyone hoping for playoff success. Jerry just signed that away..... again.

Yeah, you're right, Dak looked great out there the past 3 years. A+ stuff.

DJ KJJ just spinning his favorite record. He must have missed yesterday’s game too. Curious if his message board influencer pay went up yesterday? He gettin a Rolex too?

Still no answer on how this was anyone’s fault other than Dak and isn’t part of the problem? Awesome leader. Did Dak share his game check like a solid teammate the same way the fan club expects to share the blame? Even CeeDee’s mom agrees Dak ain’t it … who knows more than mama L? But hey that dude who wife is cheating on him isn’t a problem, he’s still married … for now all good .

I never understood how Dak could get away with a non trade clause and a no franchise tag clause and still get a 60 mil contract. It just shows how bad Jerry is as a GM.
With the amount of guaranteed money it’s meaningless, no way they FT a mid 30s declining QB and a trade would accelerate all his pushed cap. Jerry is that terrible. Our only hope is the cap goes up greater than expected to offset dumb and dumber. Hopefully Jerry invests a lil extra in a QB scout team and puts them to work now with one goal for 2027.

On the other hand, what’s the difference now? Who could afford to add his salary to what they’re already paying their roster?
