Kudos for admitting your huge mistake, but man! What a huge one it obviously was! Cost them $4 million for nothing and letting one of their two starters from last year go. Carroll took the deal that Carr wouldn't. And the numbers weren't that far off.

Some epic failures on defensive free agents.

No matter what they did with Carroll, they weren't bringing back Carr or Claiborne.

Hopefully someone at LB. That core needs better players even when/if Lee is healthy along with Hitchens.
Indeed. Razor thin in that area which has us embarrassing a young player like Jaylon. We’re literally abusing that kid and not allowing him to work his way back deliberately from such a devistating injury. It’s criminal and it might ruin him (mentally) permanently. I hope we see a steady flow of bringing in available players (unsigned vets) the next two weeks to address these personnel issues.

Doubt he cares to come out of retirement unless he gets paid. And, he isn't the Revis Island corner any more.

even if not, the reason i didnt shudder at the idea, he could be a fountain of wisdom if hes into helping the rookies, and gets paid to come in. They just tell them they will work with him if he helps their rookies. If he wants to play let him play, if he wants to sit on the bench and get paid, just help with the rookies. If he comes in with the correct mindset, it can help Dallas. if he says no, i want to play and get paid, pass.

He had good metrics with the Eagles last season and we wanted a veteran corner who could play zone to solidify the corner position as we would have at least that veteran corner, Scandrick and Brown at the top-3 corner spots before the draft.

I have no problem with the signing. He turns 31 in 3 months and is still out with a concussion while Lewis is playing very well and I think Awuzie shows promise if he can ever get healthy. Little reason to keep him around at this point.

Unclear why he was ever signed in the first place. I will take this as a positive sign the FO is serious about correcting mistakes quickly. Will be interesting to see if we bring in another vet.

They somehow thought he was as good as Carr and Claiborne, specifically Carr. They tried to sign him as a Carr replacement for two consecutive years.

Nobody saw what they were seeing before, and certainly not now.

I guess I could never shake the images of him being Dez’s female dog every time we played him. You have a more measured view of than I do, granted. I just saw him as burnt toast waiting to happen. But I do certainly agree with the concept of having vet stability to support the transition effort given all the youngsters in our defensive backfield. Just never thought it shud have been Nolan (was actually wanting TJ Ward).

LOL. Good metrics.

He was bad last year too. This franchise has had a weird obsession with him for two offseasons now. They brought him in after the 2015 season and tried to sign him then too. He smells like a Marinelli special - Rod fell in love with him for some bizarre reason and kept trying to bring him in.

They screwed up. It's OK to just admit that, at times, this organization makes really peculiar moves. Pretty much every franchise does.
