Yes he is/was.

I mean I get why people like to say this............. it's hard to stomach the reality that the Cowboys signed a crap player, but that's the reality.

I wish the fans could admit that like the team obviously has.

I mean can you really be surprised when you basically shop for free agents in the bargain bin?

Hopefully, this shakes up the thinking in the front office and with some cap space this year, they spend a bit more on quality FAs (No, not overspend for top free agents). They are going to have a lot of holes again this offseason and the draft can't fix them all.

Carroll was their hedge against Carr. For two years. They brought him in in 2016 when they were pressuring Carr to take a paycut, which he did. And then they had a set price they wanted to pay for a veteran corner. Carr balked and Carroll took the deal. Carr then signed in Baltimore a week later for a few bucks more.

In fact, the Ravens were after Claiborne over Carr but he wouldn't take the deal they offered and Carr did.

I agree on the flow of everything.

Based on the contracts Claiborne and Carr received, I don't think the Cowboys had any intention of resigning either one.

I don't think you will see anyone officially say it was performance related and all but admit he was a poor signing though.

This is just connect the dots. Will probably know a lot more if he ends up signing elsewhere quickly whether the concussion is a bigger deal.

I think they would have brought one back............ if the price was right. I don't think this was a case of them not wanting either back at any price.

the past 2 years they signed 2 Eagles players. Both are gone and both wasted money.
Idiot front office. So is will McClay not as good as we thought, or just 2 big mistakes to learn from?

The narrative changed after they signed for money that nobody thought they would get. Even Stephen Jones was fairly mum, then after that, well, we meant to do that.

Based on how close those numbers were, and the timing of the signings, I think the Cowboys had a vision - of a bridge veteran while they drafted for the future - and a set price. A price they didn't budge off of. Carr and Claiborne wanted more, Carroll took the offer. Carr and Claiborne soon signed elsewhere.

Based on results? Dallas made a big mistake at the cost of a million bucks.

I would think this taught them a lesson not to sign a CB from a team that had one of the worst secondaries in football and was looking to purge them all.

He's obviously not perfect.

Throw Mayowa in there as a "miss" as well.
