I thought he was off the injury report going into the Green Bay game? Am I mistaken?
I do not think he was cleared and still in the concussion protocol.

I seem to remember that being announced Thursday of last week, unless something came out that he was clear after that.

Irrelevant at the end of the day though.

Carroll's concussion problems must be serious. He isn't as bad as people make him out to be and Cowboys are very thin in the secondary.

is he involved in FAs?

Seems like he has a say in it:

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, vice president Stephen Jones and coach Jason Garrett have used McClay's reports to pluck players such as defensive end David Irving from opposing practice squads.

They've signed McClain, Crawford and defensive end Benson Mayowa based on McClay's recommendations -- players that generated little conversation when they signed but contributed to the Cowboys' 13-3 record last season. Mayowa, who had three career sacks coming in, led the team with six last season after signing a three-year, $8 million deal.

Those are the types of free agents the Cowboys will sign this offseason.

Yes he is/was.

I mean I get why people like to say this............. it's hard to stomach the reality that the Cowboys signed a crap player, but that's the reality.

And the evidence they were going to retain either Carr or Claiborne?

Carroll was their hedge against Carr. For two years. They brought him in in 2016 when they were pressuring Carr to take a paycut, which he did. And then they had a set price they wanted to pay for a veteran corner. Carr balked and Carroll took the deal. Carr then signed in Baltimore a week later for a few bucks more.

In fact, the Ravens were after Claiborne over Carr but he wouldn't take the deal they offered and Carr did.

LOL. Good metrics.

He was bad last year too. This franchise has had a weird obsession with him for two offseasons now. They brought him in after the 2015 season and tried to sign him then too. He smells like a Marinelli special - Rod fell in love with him for some bizarre reason and kept trying to bring him in.

They screwed up. It's OK to just admit that, at times, this organization makes really peculiar moves. Pretty much every franchise does.
Except for the 2nd round of the draft. We pretty much have a monopoly on move peculiarity in that particular department.

Cutting players with injury settlements is a touch messy, so teams don't do it if they feel like there is no other reason not to do it.

If a settlement is reached, the player becomes a free agent and can sign with another team immediately. If a settlement is not reached, the player goes on the team's IR.

His lasting memory in Miami is when the Jets coach tripped him when he was a gunner on ST. He was inconsistent at corner. Was a good STer, who returned kickoffs early on.

His fourth year on the Phins, he had 3 INTs, which I guess the Eagles thought they could build on. Was always talked about in Miami due to size, speed and potential. Never saw much in him while watching the Phins

Does this mean Jourdan starts? Hope so.

I don't see anyone else in his way. Scandrick/Brown are probably going to flop between starting and slot assignments. Awuzie seems to be out of the picture at cornerback.

I'm seeing that he practiced last week, starting at the beginning of the week.

That's telling me he was out of concussion protocol so this doesn't look like an injury settlement deal to me.

This is a "this was a mistake" deal.

He practiced last week. Your claim doesn't add up. This is the boot.
