Norm: I don't believe Jerry Jones will let this team be disciplined

Jerry is 67? it's gonna be a long time before we have a real team again.

I wish their was a chance he would sell or at least turn it over to Stephen, but that won't happen while he's still around. So yeah, it'll likely be a long time.

LOL. I tried to say that JJ was gonna kill this team until he gave up the GM thing but I got flamed for it. Bittersweet I say!!!

We need a coach/staff that will step in only if JJ steps down as the GM.

You got flamed for it? Man do you realize how long everyone and I mean EVERYONE has said JJ is a huge problem why the Cowboys are the way they are?

Please don't come out and be like you were the 1st w/ this key information.

You need to get in line.

It's pretty long.

As I recall, Dan Reeves expressed similar sentiment earlier in the week. Didn't he state that Jerry is far too involved with the players?

And when Parcells left, Jerry was quick to deem his time here a failure and quickly took back the reins.

Not going to say Jerry will never go that route again, but not too optimistic about it either.

I don't think so. He took the organizational philosophy that Parcells instilled and learned from it. I think our drafting has been solid as a result. I don't think he deemed it a failure per se, unless one puts under that umbrella the notion of not winning a SB.

What do you expect, it's been here for all of 4 months.

It's all on Jerry. Anyone who blames Wade Philips doesn't entirely understand that he has no freedom to really do his job. All the decisions go through Jerry. It's a joke.

Jerry needs to step aside and let a coach make his own decisions.

Or a GM

Jerry still wants to be the center piece instead of the Dallas Cowboys being the center piece and Jerry being the peripheral figure that helps make it happen.

I've been saying this for years.

If Jerry really wants this team to win and be a contender yearly, he must realize his plan is not working. He must get someone with greater football knowledge than his own to take over this team. He has been selfish, and the team and fans suffer for it.

I know I'll hear "it's his team and he can do with it what he wants", but that is a lame excuse.

Once he actually figures this out, and does the right thing, this team and the fans will continue to suffer. Snyder and Davis are the same way, and look at the similarities between us all.

It is not winning makes him more money because we have not been winning for 7 years. Jerry is all about marketing himself first and then the team in the public eye. Every week people are talking about JJ and the Cowboys, making fun of hiom for not allowing a real football genius to come in and take over. If he left Jimmy alone back in the day he could have just sat back and relaxed as Jimmy would have just kept bringing in the trophies. Jerry just pay and market the team leave everything else to the professionals.

What's remarkable is that there are still those who will defend his every move.

I highly doubt that. He hired Parcells so that is evidence that disproves that point.

Regardless, this is a battle that internet forum posters aren't going to win.

If hiring Bill Parcells was proof that Jerry Jones would put winning before his ego then everything he's done since that hiring has proven otherwise.

i always wish in jerrys opening of training camp press comferences that someone would ask what he would do if he had a general manager that went 11 12 13 years without a playoff win would he still be employed

I seriously think ,he thinks more of that Damn Stadium ,then the football team. As long as he can fill the seats.

Huh? I mean, we went 13-3 the following year after he left and had #1 seed in the playoffs. What has he done since then that has shown that he's put his ego over winning?

I think all of this talk is just silly.

Failing to hire a GM.

Without an accurate family and social history, it will be tough to completely predict, but I honestly believe that it could be a solid 25-30 years before Jerry even begins to show symptoms of dying. I'm not talking about symptoms of aging such as wrinkles and whitening hair.

He may not die for quite some time...particularly if he and Al Davis make a challenge out of it.

13-3 heh heh

Jerry Jones is the judge, the jury, and the executioner at Valley Ranch. We all know that.

Deion Sanders still loves to make reference to the beeline often made by him and certain other prominent players to Mr. Jones' office when things didn't exactly suit them.

In an era of weak head coaches employed by this organization, the current one, Wade Phillips, is probably viewed as the poster boy. Bill Parcells might be the exception, but even he wasn't what he once was. Tuna put up with a lot more here than he ever did in New York.

For well over a decade, there has been little notion of accountability in that locker room. Since the '96 season - the last time we won a playoff game - there have been waves of players, five head coaches, and one owner/GM.

I like Norm, but this isn't exactly news. We are all well-aware. Blame Wade Phillips or Jason Garrett, but they are only handling this the only way they know how, the only way they've ever known.

Once again, this is what the organization wanted. Why should we expect much in the way of accountability?

Jerry Jones is a complete and utter FAILURE as a GM and self-proclaimed wanna be "Football Guy", that's just a fact.

Catch up Jerry Jones equates to an on going prank, a complete joke around the league and to the rest of the NFL.

That doesn't make any sense.

If he hired a GM and they went worse than 13-3 and #1 in the playoffs after Parcells left, would he be blamed for that? If he went farther, would he have gotten credit?

Was he responsible for 13-3 or not responsible? Was it luck or not?

I'm not following the logic. All I see is subjective bias.
