Norv Turner ain't looking so hot now?

Only one team can win it all every year. Norv did a tremendous job with his team given the cards he was dealt early in the year. A much better job than our coaching staff did....

The Chargers got bit with a couple turnovers and the big PI penalty. I will say, in an elimination game, they at least showed up.

The loss of LT was the difference.

Sorry, no... Sproles is > LT at this juncture. And I'd take Sproles all day over pretty much any back we have. I'm prepared to get blasted on that, but I think Sproles is one of the top 5 backs in the league. And here's an earth shaker, Norv isn't utilizing him to his full potential.

Norv still has 3 playoff wins in his two seasons there. That's 3 more than we've had in 13 years. I'd take that in a heartbeat.

Sproles isn't an every down inside the tackles runner. He is shifty, but goes down quick when hit. Pittsburgh is just playing their game running the ball at home in bad weather. Not much San Diego can do about that. They pretty much needed a perfect game to win and didn't get it.

Good post. Sproles size is deceptive IMO, I think he can be an every down back. The guy has the heart of an Emmitt Smith. Give him the ball more and the Chargers are going places.

At least Norv made it to the playoffs and won a game this season.

And he won 2 games last season.

Shouldn't he start 3 or 4 games in a row before he can be one of the top 5 backs in the league?

Not only did the Chargers loose LT, but they lost Merriman in the very beggining of the year. Imagine if Dallas lost Ware, it would have changed the Defense completely.

What a Wade Phillips decision to punt the ball down by 21 in the 4th quarter. LOSER.

You'll have to check with Jerry Jones on that one. See Marion Barber III. And Sproles has been a factor in a handful of playoff and countless reg season games. You don't have to take the first snap of the game to play like a starter (there's a lot of players on this team alone that need to realize this and shut up) The guy has a gift. That's all I'm gonna say. He's a special player.

When has Norv ever looked hot?

He's just one of the many great coordinators who transform into a mediocre head coach.

See Wade Phillips for an example.

Why would I check with Jones. YOU said Sproles was a top 5 back in the league. I like Sproles, I was calling for Dallas to draft him as a third down back. But top 5 in the league?

After we got shellacked by the Eagles I saw a lot of posts indicating we made the wrong move taking Phillips over Turner. A guessing game made by emotion to be sure, but who could say at this point. I'll give Wade one more season.... reluctantly.

Some are just more mediocre than others. But I get your point.
