Norv Turner ain't looking so hot now?

So the premise of this thread and about 12 others on this board the past week or so is anyone who doesn't win the Super Bowl is a worthless piece of do. That's just faulty reasoning. Norv got dealt a terrible hand this year, but he still turned it around got his team into the playoffs and actually won a game. Something our team hasn't done in 12 years. Today's game would have been much more competitive with some competent officiating. Now, Eli sure isn't looking so good right now! :)

Norv inherited a Schottenheimer team that went 12-4 the season before he was hired. If anything, he has underachieved to this point.

14-2 team from Marty S.

Really? He got them where Marty couldn't. I guess if you value regular season records Marty's your guy. I would prefer advancing in the playoffs, but that's just me!

Fair enough, but is winning a playoff game and getting eliminated good enough? That's more than the Cowboys have done in, oh.... 13 years, but does that mean the bar should be lowered?

(BTW, who's to say Marty wouldn't have gotten them there and beyond... who fires a 14-2 coach?)

No the bar shouldn't be lowered for us Cowboys fans but right now it would be nice to just win a playoff game and then worry about what happens next. Gotta win one first anyway to have a shot at the superbowl.

Nevermind that SD was without Merriman the entire season and LT played the whole season with an injured toe.

Good points. And also they may have been in last years superbowl had they not had to play a team in the AFCCG that nearly went undefeated.

The chargers faced the best team in teh AFC. And they did it w/o their best player.

Did anyone actually expect the Chargers to win?

Did anyone expect the Eagles to get to the NFC divisional round of the playoffs?

Yes. Yes, I did.

Next question?

You can't get me riled up Rack, I know you too well.

But that being said, did you expect it before or after the Eagles stomped our guts out?

Before. Go read my posts leading up to that massacre.

I expect them to be in the superbowl too. Hope I'm wrong, but c'mon... they're playing the cardinals, man.

It'll be the Eagles and probably the Steelers. And, again, I won't be watching it.

The loss of LT was the difference.

No way. If you watched LT throughout this season, you can tell his tank is starting to run. Definitley on the downside...He's nowhere near the back he was 4-5 years ago. Him being out had nothing to do with that loss IMO...

Norv never looked so hot, quite frankly. Not to anyone with a brain.

Shouldn't he start 3 or 4 games in a row before he can be one of the top 5 backs in the league?

hell with 3 or 4 games but how about a season!!! AP, turner, westbrook, gore, barber, chris johnson, m jones drew, b.jacobs, portis, steven jackson, LT!, matt forte, deangelo williams, john stewart, steve slaton, ronnie brown, thomas jones, reggie bush,.....theres more.

he couldnt crack the top 15 i dont even think his mother is crazy enough to put him up there.

i know we lost and we are out but folks lets not get out of hand (even though most have here)
