Nice thing about this scenario is that IMO it IS easily doable. We can wish all we want but it has to be at least somewhat grounded in reality for it to happen. Think about it....Give up a 4th for someone who COULD help us win a Superbowl THIS YEAR. Is a 4th worth THAT??? YEP, sure is, by a country mile.

Did not follow the Tank Johnson suspension details, but I thought he was waived from said team, so is acually an URFA, is this true?

Yes. The Bears cut him. He is an URFA. On the thread about Ferguson's injury, it has been mentioned that The Ticket reported that Remi has been signed back to the team.

So what would be the problem to have tank comein for an extended "work out" and just keep him herefor those 8 games and introdue him to our defense and local Dallas AA meetings at the same time to get everyone off on the same page and see if he would do what was needed to become a part of somethig special.

If you want a really huge body to plug the middle, Dallas should trade Cleveland for Romeo Crennell. He's a lot bigger than Washington.

Tank Johnson would be a brilliant fit in this defense, and I think we should make this happen as soon as we possibly can. I'm super cereal.

Being suspended, he can't be with the team.

Honestly, I wish this were a serious option.

I think Dallas could sign him and he wouldn't take a roster spot (at least for maybe more than 24 hrs).

He would immediately go to reserve/suspended list, which frees his roster space.

And as stated, he couldn't practice.

Who else is out there? These guys were among the final training camp cuts last week but I'm not sure how many of them have since signed with other teams and who are still FA's:

- Former JAX DT and HOU NT Seth Payne.
- Former Raven and Buc DT Anthony Bryant. He has the size to play NT at least: 6'3", 335 lbs.
- Former Raider DT Antajj Hawthorne who I think was considered a top DT prospect 3 years ago
- Former Bronco and Rams' top draft pick DT Jimmy Kennedy
- Former Bronco and Chief DT John Browning
- Former Commander DT Joe Salave'a
- Former Cardinal DT Jonathan Lewis

Think of it this way. Not only do we get our run plugging nose tackle,................we ALSO weaken Cleveland which in turn could mean an even HIGHER st round pick. Win now and win later. Think man,....THINK! :D

id prefer to sign Tank just cause hes a good fit and wouldnt require obviously losing a draft pick for him

With the CAP space Dallas has, they have to look at Tank.

Washington fits the bill to a tee. He's a quick, one year fix. In truth, I think he and Ratliff could possibly form a better tandem then Ferg/Ratliff. Washington keeps the backers clean and plugs the run on the early downs. Im SURE we could get Washington even cheaper than a 4th, im just saying, if I had to I would go that high. When you think your close to competing for a conference title you make that trade....ALL DAY LONG. Tank Johnson does NOTHING for us. He's suspended the 1st 8 games he's active. HOW DOES HE HELP US???? He doesnt. THINK

I think Jimmy Kennedy is still available and may be worth a look. Sometimes being cut and a change of scenery is just what a player needs to jumpstart his career.

I'm pretty sure Seth Payne is one of the very few FA DT's out there with actual experience at NT (with HOU). If his knee is OK, then perhaps he'd be worth taking a flyer on.

He's had a great career and is a "Wade Phillips guy" but

the two problems I have with Washington are:

a) 2-year contract estimated at worth of 7 million dollars

b) Date of birth April 13, 1968 (age 39)
