Like I said, if you feel you are CLOSE to getting to a Superbowl then you go ahead and blow a 4th to make that trade. Cleveland is HORRID and needs all the picks it can get to rebuild, think they would jump at the chance. We basically RENT a player for a season to help us get to the BIG SHOW for the cost of a 4th round pick.

I agree and your a smart man.

Sometimes you gotta make sacrifices for the now. Not everything is about the future 3 years from now.

If Ted can still ball and clog that middle then go do it.

Just please dont settle with Ratliff and Remi and get gashed all season long.

They may prove me wrong but we gotta have more insurance than just that.

..................Thanks Catch! Not sure how smart I am, but I do KNOW I live and breathe football. Like I say, its a double wammy, we get Ted to clog the middle of our defense and we also WEAKEN Cleveland, hopefully we weaken them enuff to get the 1st pick in the draft!!!! Now, I know them losing Ted isnt gonna impact them ALL THAT MUCH, their horrible already, But HEY, every little bit helps!

I agree with these statements if they begin to struggle, but I thought Ratliff played decent-to-good last night.

And I thought Remi looked like he might have potential during pre-season.

It just seems like we should evaluate the younger guys we have (in game situations), before we pull the trigger on Grampa Washinton.:laugh2:

If we jump the gun, worst case senario; we lose a 4th (which could be next years DT), Washinton gets hurt, and we have to pay two DT's on IR and are nowhere better off than we are now.

Fact is that our Run D was really poor with Fergie out. Now maybe some other players had part of the blame but there it is. Ratliff will get worn down if they keep him in there. Remi- he is a backup.

Since WHEN did Tank Johnson become hall of fame material??? Since WHEN has Tank played Nose tackle??? I thought he played next to Tommie Harris in Chicago as a 4-3 defensive tackle:rolleyes: Since when is it EVER a good idea to sign a player who is suspended for 8 games, hasnt played a down of football and is out of shape, has MAJOR character issues, and is on the verge of getting kicked out of the league entirely?????? Oh yeah,...FANTASTIC IDEA!

Height: 6'3"
Weight: 302
40 Yrd Dash: 4.72
20 Yrd Dash: 2.78
10 Yrd Dash: 1.69
225 Lb. Bench Reps: 31
Vertical Jump: 34
Broad Jump: 9'6"
20 Yrd Shuttle: 4.67
3-Cone Drill: 7.59

Those numbers are absolutely unreal. He's got better size than Jay Ratliff and is stronger, so I see no reason why he wouldn't be able to play Wade's 3-4 NT.

Wouldn't it be advisable to sign a DT with NT experience like Seth Payne to shorten the adjustment time? We're facing Steven Jackson in 3 weeks...

I'm also in the Tank camp. He's a talent and would do well rotating with Ratliff inside.

We all need to keep in mind that we are also replacing or splitting Ratliff's time as an interior pass rusher when we go to a 4-man DL, not just the NT position .

Neither of these guys are classic NTs but if you can get 20 plays out of each in base sets, you can keep them fresh.

How exactly do we "sign" someone who plays for another team?

I disagree a bit. We gave up big runs on draws and runs out of shotgun. NY wasn't lining up and running on us, so if we didn't have commit so many guys to pass coverege, the long runs wouldn't happen.

I didn't think Tank was that good in CHI. But wouldn't be against signing him once his suspension ends. In the mean time, I'd stay away from Seth Payne, I don't think he's been in a training camp all offseason, so I question his conditioning. I'd say bring in Jimmy Kennedy or Anthony Bryant.

Doubt it since he had that incident in Az.
Depends. I don't know that a speeding ticket would be enough to warrant what would amount to a several hundred thousand dollar suspension.
