PLEASE Stop with the Tank Johnson stuff. Im sorry, but thats just stupid. He cant play the first 8 GAMES after a team signs him. After not playing all that time he wouldnt be effective in the 1st place. He's also NOT a nosetackle. He is a 4-3 D.T. He is also a VERY low character guy who has one foot on a banana peel and the other one on his way out of the league. How signing him helps us, I'll NEVER know. We need a NOSE TACKLE right ummm NOW, NOT 8 games from now.

Well.... right now we don't have a true NT. Ratliff is probably best suited for DT, and plays DE/NT. I could see why we would sign Tank. If we were to believe that he could stay out of trouble, and did a financially friendly deal to cover ourselves.... we could be getting a big boost for the stretch run/playoffs.Avenging Hayseed;1634770 said:

I think the Cowboys should try to get Remi Adoyle back. I thought he should have made the team in the first place.
Or Thomas "Pepper" Johnson should be an option also. He's an nice pass-rusher and he's very disruptive player out on the field. He could really help at getting more sacks.

In THREE seasons of playing on a line that features Tommie Harris, Ogunleye, Anderson, and Brown ,Tank Johnson has a GRAND TOTAL of 63 tackles and nine sacks. Umm, yeah, TANK IS THE CURE ALL FOR THIS DEFENSE.... WHERE in the world is all this TANK LOVE coming from . Awefull lot of love for an average player with an attitude problem who is SUSPENDED ANYWAY AND IN NO WAY CAN HELP THIS TEAM.

All I know is I want someone, ANYONE, to explain to me how a player who is suspended for the first eight games after he is signed is going to help this team?????I dont wanna hear anything about STRETCH RUNS either, UMMM, if we dont fix the N.T slot NOW there wont be any stretch runs!

Look, this team has been notorious for December fades. You don't think a fresh, HUGE, athletic extra body on the DL might help that? This team just beat what was considered by most experts to be a .500 team without it's starting NT and Jay Ratliff playing the lions' share of those snaps. If all we do for the next few weeks is tread water (beat who we should) with Ratliff and Ayodele playing NT, then we would be in a position to make a playoff run. but it's not going to happen if we are 2-3 in the last 5 games.
What if Ayodele is all that we get to help out the NT position? You ready to give those two the rest of the year there? Think they're gonna be fresh for the stretch run?
Or we could have a young fresh guy waiting in the wings to help out. If I'm not mistaken, he'll be able to use the 8 weeks to learn the position and get in shape.
All I'm saying is I could see the thought process behind it.
You haven't offered many alternatives... just that we can go trade a draft pick for a guy who may or may not be on the trade block.
