IMO the people who don't want him are the ones that want leadership, character, and class. Those same people saw 3 to 5 super bowls.

IMO the people who do want him here are the ones saying forget the star incident, I want to win now blah, blah, blah. Those same people never saw or were too young to remember the glory days so they are desperate for a championship.

Thats my opinion and I am sticking to it.

I have been a Cowboy Fan For 30 Years!

I love leadership,Character and Class and I've seen 4 Super Bowl Wins and 2 Super Bowl Losses...Which Means I didn't see Super Bowls V & VI.

I want Owens Bad...Because he can help Us Get where we want to be...He's also one of our Biggest Needs and he's One of the Best WR's in the Game!

Sign T.O.!

Clearly your feelings are inaccurate and "personally" driven. Yes Irvin was very talented and one of "the men" in Dallas where the TD's were scored by Emmitt. But 100 times better than TO... uh, no.

In 10 seasons, Owens, who began his NFL career with the San Francisco 49ers as a third-round pick in the 1996 draft, has 716 receptions for 10,535 yards and 101 touchdowns.
He has appeared in 142 games, 128 of them as a starter, and has been chosen for the Pro Bowl five times.

Comparison

First 10 seasons

Michael Irvin - *12 year career, not 10
159 G | 147 GS | 65 TD | 750 REC | 11,904 Yards

Jerry Rice
156 G | 143 GS | 121 TD | 820 REC | 13,325 Yards

Terrell Owens
142 G | 128 GS | 101 TD | 716 REC | 10,535 Yards

Note: T.O. didnt have Montana throwing to him most of his career.

T.O. was forced to miss 9 games this year.

The info below is based on ONLY 7 games in 2005.

T.O. was still on pace for 1,500 yards last year(7 games=763 yards)
T.O. was on pace to pass his 14 TD's from year before.(7 games=6 TD's)
T.O. was on pace for over 100 receptions
T.O. had 43 First Downs in 2005 in just 7 games, on pace for over 80. easily would have passed his 51 First Downs in 2004
T.O. had 10 recptions for 20+ yards
T.O. had 4 receptions for 40+ yards
T.O. had 1 reception for 91 yards

Why in GODS Name Would We Ever Want T.O.?

You stats prove hes a good receiver, but says nothing about the 2 teams he left in shambles. You could not be more wrong in your conclusion.

One person does not leave a team in shambles. This is total and utter nonsense.

Just to let you know your opinion is ill conceived and naive and the people who are agreeing with you likely never had an independent thought in their entire lives...

Been a Fan since 1980, and I just want to win... Bring in TO today.

Yea character was really important to Jimmy Johnson, right! Ive been a Cowboys fan for almost 30 years and I for one want them to sign TO. I think some of you forget this isnt the same Cowboys team that use to make the playoffs year in and year out, this team has sucked for almost a full decade and the offense has been downright pitiful to watch. Greg Ellis is a great guy but Ill take Charles Haley all day.
So since we have sucked for so long, open the door and bring the trash in?

When you find yourself digging yourself into a hole, the best thing to do is stop digging. Signing TO is like bring in a back hoe to dig 10Xs as fast. :bang2:

He said TEAM player. Hes right. TO does not know what a team concept is.

McNabbs injury left the Eagles in shambles not TO. I dont understand why people think that. Coming into the Dallas game they were the #1 O in the NFL. McNabb went down and so did there season.

Add horrible coaching and subpar defense, none of which has anything to do with TO.

Who do you think is the leader of this pack? Jerry Jones.

"He can sleep on the star"

"Anything less than winning the Super Bowl is unacceptable"

I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not. If not, I truly worry for you. Naive may not encompass all of your problems.

If T.O can help Dallas win a Super Bowl then i'm happy his on the team. Cause at the end of the day, we play the game to win Super Bowls and if BP and JJ thinks he can help then do it.

The eagles had a better team then us in 2004, yet TO couldn't help them win a superbowl against one of the worst superbowl champions of all time.

TO isn't the difference between winning a superbowl or not, or even GOING to a superbowl or not. As he's done everywhere he's always been, he'd cause more harm then good to the organization.

TO helped them as much as he could to win a super bowl. 100+ yards and 3 TDs. Unfortunately for them the rest of his team (the QB in particular) crumbled around him when it counted.

And it wasn't enough. Again, proving that TO is NOT the difference between winning a superbowl or not. And the fact that he didn't play in a single playoff game and they made it to the superbowl anyway, proves that he is NOT the difference between even MAKING it to the superbowl or not.

And you'd think that being the TO groupie that you are, you'd know that he didn't score a single TD in the superbowl.

You were talking about "Substance" in that other thread? At least I don't make crap up to try and support my arguments.

LJ Smith
Westbrook
Greg Lewis

They scored Philly's TDs. Get your facts straight or don't bother replying. You can't even hang with me, yet you expect to do battle with the Bear?

Maybe some simple math will help. If your goal is to get over the numerical goal of 10, adding 5 to any number will help you achieve that goal. Whether you start with enough to get over that goal or not is another question. This does not lessen the value of the 5.

So how many TDs did TO score in the superbowl?

Here's some simple math for you...

Zero + Zero = Zero.

Which is how many TDs TO scored in the Superbowl.
