Number 1 seed

You just changed the argument.

Being 5-1 is where we are NOW!
No. 1 seeding is determined LATER, near or at the end of the season.

not really. I don't think he meant seed literally... currently in first place in the NFC. maybe poor wording

Look, I don't want to rain on your excitement. I'm excited too.
But I think it's way too early to talk about number 1 seeding. Too many variables to take into account and too much season left.

That's right, take a look at the standings, your Dallas Cowboys are the #1 seed in the NFC.

Woot, woot!

We gotta hold onto it.

I was so glad when Philly did us that favor yesterday and beat the Vikings. Lions, Chargers, and Cardinals yesterday too..

It's our year fellas.. Big Picture.. Getting a bye and 2 home games in Dallas just ensures it.

Fair enough. But you can understand our reaction based on the word "seeding?

yup.. .just thought contextually his post explained what he was saying (and my follow up) whatever though. as of right now we're tops in the NFC and that's cool (for now)

All I know is that I live and work in hardcore skins country (DC), and today I can say to my fellow cow-orker skins fan, "Hey buddy, you're looking kind of glum today." Cow-orker: " Yeah..... rough day yesterday" Me: "Yeah, I'm feeling a little out of sorts as well. Think I'll go look at the NFL standings to cheer up" lolol

regardless of seeding which I agree it way too early the fact the Cowboys have been playing quality football and winning games is all that matters. Everything else will take care of itself if they continue to play good ball and work to improve as a team.

is being 5-1 meaningless? or leading the division? just a snapshot in time and means what it means currently.
It's meaningless only because everyone wants to temper enthusiasm. If we were 1-5, those same folks wouldn't say it was meaningless.

It's not the end of the season but Dallas has put themselves in a great position. Long way to go, but it's ok to be excited.

It is meaningless because there is still a lot of football to be played. I think fans should be excited about how this team has started the season but there is still a long ways to go before the post season comes.

hows it too early? didn't say we're going to be at the end of the season, we just are currently. awesome
You know how some people need to throw a wet blanket on your joy because of their own fear???

Granted, this team's past collapses have something to do with that (and the ridicule it elicits from the gloaters)...so there's certainly cause for the cynicism.

Nevertheless...it's never too early to have hope!!!

It's never way to early to discuss seeding. If we were 0 and 6 right now you wouldn't be saying where we are now is irrelevant. **** this one game at a time ********. Unless u are a Cowboys player you aren't playing on Sunday so the enthusiam wet blankets around here amaze me.

It doesn't equate to a super bowl victory just yet but it is sure a lot more fun than being 4 and 12 last year. Bask in the glory while you can. Who knows if it will last.

Reviewing the seeding indicates that if we lose this week we will drop to the #5 seed at best. We are all aware of that too.

No, that's not it. Seeding comes near the end of the season and pertains to the playoffs.
If we were 1-5, we wouldn't be needing to talk about seeding because it wouldn't be certain we'd even make the playoffs.

Second, few, if any, here are trying to temperor enthusiasm. All of us appear to be enthusiast. But talking about seeding is premature. It's like being an elementary student who gets a girlfriend for the first time and talking about marriage. There are too many years, too many girls, too many changes with you and her to be talking about marriage. :)

Man the Negative Nancy crowd sure gets old. Why do you negative people even call yourself fans? What is the fun in following a team that you pretty much hope loses? The logic in that escapes me.

You mean you didn't think about marriage with your first girlfriend? Come on now ..... Come clean my friend!!
