That's being too sensitive. As we've said several times, we are excited about the Cowboys 5-1 record. But saying as of today we're the number 1 seed is meaningless because of the reasons I said previously.

I can't help if some of us like to be precise with words and meaning and others don't.

But if you want to enjoy the fact that we're the number 1 seed now even though that's still to be determined, have at it.

Yes, disagreement does make the board fun. But there are people who are too sensitive. Nevertheless, they are welcome in this community too. It's all good. :)

It may be meaningless to YOU but please don't even attempt to generalize to Cowboys Nation!! I, for one, take a lot of meaning in the Cowboys being 5-1 and I am absolutely certain there are millions of fans that take meaning in it too!!

As I said I'm thrilled with way they are playing and my hope is they not only contine to play winning football but to continue to develop and improve in areas that are still weakness of this team. Pretty good situation to be 5-1 and know there is still room to improve. As for the seeding it will mean a lot more when the playoffs are set instead of 2 game shy of the halfway mark.
There are 10 games left to play, if by chance after next week we are not #1 seed it is not changing my views of our chances to be one of the top 2 seeds.

We can't get cocky, there are 10 games left before the playoffs start and it just takes 2-3 key injuries and we'll drop straight down into the toilet.

That's why I'm so glad we're having the bye week right now. If we can get through this next 6 game stretch without losing anyone of consequence, we're set up for a nice run in December and into the playoffs.

There's some real downers in this thread. I've never been the most optimistic guy in the world, but acting like you can't be happy because you're the #1 just because it can change makes no sense. So if you're at a game and we score a TD should you not cheer just because the game isn't over and we still may lose? Or should we not be happy clinching a playoff birth just because we may not be the Super Bowl champs? Sports for some of you must be miserable you can't be happy for a single second unless your team wins a championship I guess.

Exactly. Seeding in the conference is the furthest thing from my mind right now. I'm just enjoying the season week by week. We aren't even at the halfway point of the season yet.

I don't think any Cowboys fan does not want the #1 seed but with 10 games remaining some of us are more interested in the Cowboys being the #1 seed after week 17. Lot of football left to play and Cowboys are giving everyone a reason to be excited about the season.

Most people say take it one game at a time. We are tied for best record in the NFL right now. Put it how you want but that's the facts. Dallas is on top in the NFC
