You're the one projecting past to present, not me. I said nothing about this year.

And you're also the one that said our best year recently was 8-8 when it was 12-4.
Don't put this on me. I was just setting the record straight.

Generally rookie QB's who are starting are also doing so for teams who lack talent around the rookie QB.
He doesn't have to play like rookie Dan Marino to be effective enough to allow us to "contend" with a team who has been awful for 3 straight seasons.
Lol, Dak only has to hold ship until Tony Romo returns...

i said years, i dindt say 1 specific year, i also didnt mention last year, which is the only important year to the "new " year. Should teams fear us based on opinion? No, do they have anything to fear of the Cowboys right now? No, let it go, if the Cowboys are good, it will show, if not, than anything anyone says is validated. SImple as that.

It's funny that some would say that we are not the kind of team that a rookie QB would start on. We were 4-12 last year, and 1-11 without the guy who the rookie is going to be replacing. We are pretty much exactly the kind of team a rookie QB starts on.

Best O line in football
Elite WR
HOF TE
Very very good slot WR
Top notch running game

Yea bro, typical situation for a rookie QB to walk into.

the best O line, thats debatable, to many penalties still dont do it for my likes. Id even take a so called lesser line if for every good play doesnt go backwards.
Hof TE , yea, that has won us tons of games.
which slot WR, the one we wont notice when hes gone.
Running game, as long as Garrett stays away from the play calling, should be fine and should do its job.

I hope Jason, Scott & Rod did some reflective thinking on what they screwed up last season & figured it out. At least enough to not do a total repeat. If not I see another high draft & a sea change in the brain trust. Coaches salaries don't count towards the cap do they? Jerry has to know he's taken mediocre about as far as it can go.

In a division where the divisional winner could end up 9-7 or 8-8 yes he does.
We should be able to play .500 ball with a rookie QB.
No?

4-12 (1-11).

We lost 7 games last season by a touchdown or less without Romo. 2 games in OT.

A healthy Dez, Zeke, and Dak should help us get a touchdown more per game.

May not...but I don't see the reason to pack it in when it hasn't even started. Doesn't sound like a fun way to enjoy this form of entertainment.

For all those touting 4-12 as an example of Dallas having no chance, the Giants were 6-11. Should a 6-11 team be bragging about anything? Or expecting the division to be easy?

And then he will have to take over again when Romo is once again put on the shelf.

Not if, but when.

Don't worry, this fan won't be signing up for an investment portfolio with you...

The return time table isn't set, but I think Dak can handle the job until Tony returns...and the easier schedule should assist as well.

What isn't debatable, is that the offense will produce at much higher a level from last season. With two functional quarterbacks, with or without Tony Romo for half a season as well.

The Giants advantages QB and probably DE. Cowboys advantages OLIne, WR as a whole, TE, RB, LB, S. Toss ups are probably DT, CB.

Yes our LB corps as a whole isn't great but Lee is, the Giants don't have a player on their defense that's as good as Lee I think. They definitely don't in the LB Corps.

IF Dak is competent I think we win the game. I think our OLine should win the battle against their DLine and I'll take Zeke head up on any of their LB, S or CB. Basically I think we have the running game this year that some seemed to think we had last year and a true WR1 to take advantage if they crowd the line. If the Giants want to blitz I hope we just load up and say stop it. I also want to see us try and exploit the tendencies of Janoris Jenkins on the outside. He's a good CB but he's way too much of a gambler for my tastes, seems to fall for double moves a decent amount.

Our defense isn't great, probably isn't good, but I expect it will be competent. In the nickle, which I imagine we will be the majority of the time you have a good DT rotation, a stud LB and another that's competent, a collection of decent and better CB and I'm guessing under rated S play. The question will be can we generate any edge rush. If we do the defense will be alright. If we don't it could be a long game. Helping us with that rush should be the fact that the Giants have 2 competent OLine players.

I honestly expect a close game as both teams are flawed. I think our offense is probably still the best whole unit on the field, even with the rookie QB. I'm not sure I see a whole lot of separation among the other three primary units. I do think we likely have an advantage at PK especially with their PK suspended for the game.

If I had to place a guess I'd go something like 27-21 Cowboys.

I'm not going to say that. IT may be true but i'm not going to say he's better than a guy in Cassel who has quarterbacked some winning football teams including in New England. I'm not going to put that on a rookie until he shows it. But as of now we've seen nothing to suggest that. He may be better than Weeden but i'm not sure exactly what that means.

Cassel was a joke here in Dallas(I don't care what he did before here) and so was Weeden. Heck, Dak showed more to me in preseason than those guys showed in their whole time here. You can say it was preseason all you want but that dude was amazing out there. So amazing that it didn't even matter it was preseason. This guy is going to be legit. He was playing like a veteran. Some of thay will certainly transfer into the regular season. This kid is mature, confident, has a rocket arm, can run if he has to, knows how to make his reads, knows all the plays, etc.

To top it off he has the best oline in football and plenty of weapons. He is not in a normal position a rookie Qb is typically in.
