Our WR wasnt out whole season and our RB was 4th in the league in rushing. Not bad for not starting until the 6th game but none of it contributed but to 1 win without Romo.
Dez was a shell of himself last year, beyond having crappy QB play.

To me the fact that we had the #4 RB in the league showed that the Oline was dominant and we've upgraded the talent and gotten a better scheme fit at RB. Zeke + Morris + Jackson seems much better then Underwear theif + McFadden + Turbin/Michael. McFadden isn't garbage, but he's probably average to a bit above. Zeke has a chance to be much better then that. Morris is better as a player then any other RB we ran through here last year, at least as of what they did last year.

Agree again but the point is this roster is unproven without Romo and why it's being discounted or not recognized as much as we'd like .

As soon as we start winning without Romo the opinions will turn.

I don't really care what any individual beat guy says. Many of them aren't particularly competent at much of anything but reporting what they heard as a press conference. I thought you were disagreeing with persepective. I agree its an unknown but I think its just foolish to discount anyone at this point. I can make a case to discount every single team in the east right now based on what they have on their team. The hardest is probably the skins right now. Then to me us and the giants are about as hard to do. The eagles are the easiest to discount because Chippy really did leave them talent short at a lot of places other then DLine.

I understand but Dak is an unproven commodity as is Elliot. They might be fixing to light it up but until they do.... You go with whose been there before .

That's unbiased reporting.

This 2016 Cowboys team is about to shock the East ! Let them sleep on us ! This offense and top 10-15 defense is about to put the east on notice ! i cannot wait to read the G-Men's board when EE runs wild and Dak Plays well outside of the Vanilla Scheme i have heard detractors say so often !

their offensive line is not by any means the worst in the league. They are an average group and should have no problem blocking our ends sunday.

Okay - I will qualify it and say in the pre-season and they absolutely were the worst.

This from Big Blue of Super Bowl Nation--

Right now, the starting offensive line is sabotaging the preseason. It is making it virtually impossible for the Giants to run enough plays to give their stable of running backs opportunities to compete for roster spots. It is making it impossible for the young wide receivers to get enough snaps or targets to show what they can do. It is putting the defense in difficult situations with consistently short fields.

If the Giants can’t find a way to fix that line, internally or externally, it could end up being the Achilles heel that sabotages the entire season. Right now there is little reason to be optimistic.

I can not wait for the season to start. The first game at home could be a little rough. I would have liked Prescott to have played his first game on the road. Morris and Elliott and the OL could surprise the Giants. But, the Giants always play the Cowboys tough in Dallas and they will bring the heat on the young QB. It will be wild.

Honestly it feels a lot like a coin flip to me. Our offense is probably a better over all unit even with Dak then their defense is. Their offense is better then our defense if their line holds up. Its just a question of which offense is just that much better then the opposing defense. I like our chances because our OLine is excellent, and is pretty easily the single best position group on either team.
I believe we're gonna smoke 'em by 14 points, and dominant the second half in TOP.

So I wonder how long Dak has to play well for people to stop with the "Did well against vanilla defenses" argument which BTW, is the same defense that everyone else faced yet no one looked nearly as good.
Dak may come out and be awesome this year. And as a Cowboys fan I sure hope so.

But for the love of God stop with these preseason forward looking projections. They simply do not correlate to the regular season.

Teams are not game planning. Veterans are out or going through the motions.Team to team motivation is not uniform. Sample sizes are incredibly small.

This kind of talk is getting embarrassing for our fan base.

While I can't blame the Giants for thinking they've got a cakewalk with Dak in at QB, it might well turn out to be much tougher than they expect. They'll be pressuring him as much as possible but taking him down might prove anything but easy. They'll be challenged more than they'd like.

The people who have a problem with this would be quick to prop Prescott should he take the Cowboys to the playoffs this year as a rookie. Why? Because it's extremely rare for a rookie QB to have that kind of success.

That's the point. The Giants should assume the Commanders are their main competition this year just like Eagles fans should assume they took a step back this year trading Bradford.

Ok first off, I never ONCE said playing well in the preseason correlates to playing well in the regular season. Not once. My stance is people keep using this dumb argument and using it as if it's a detriment to play well in the preseason. That's moronic to me. You guys keep talking about "oh it's just preseason..."? I understand that. But people have also looked terrible in preseason as well. If it's so easy then why has no one else dominated. Some have actually looked terrible.

And if everyone is using vanilla defenses then what about the offense? You think the Cowboys actually went 100% on offense and was aggressive?

I agree it's silly to expect Dak to have a 153 qb rating every game. But to me it's silly to pretend like what he's done doesn't mean anything. That's drivel created by people who wish to see the Cowboys fail. I'm not concerned with how any other fan base views me or fellow Cowboy fans. And neither should anyone else. There's not one reason why no one should not be optimistic.

I don't think they believe that. Giants have a problem with containing mobile quarterbacks. I'm not sure if that's going to hurt them or not but they are concerned with his feet.

Which part of the preseason does not correlate to the regular season, good or bad, don't you understand?

Yes, all else equal it's better to play well than poorly. That should be obvious. What should also be obvious is that the preseason is predictive. Unless of course you now think Dak is the best QB in the league?

well they played without their starting left guard and the tight ends are what killed repeated drives in buffalo. Against the jets they just couldn't run the ball. Jets are pretty good up front.

They resigned will beatty who in time could end up taking the right tackle spot if need be.

Preseason is Preseason. They will have a gameplan to attack our defense and that will help the line. I think our defensive interior could give them trouble but they will do what everyone does to us since marinelli got here and just use the lines aggressiveness against us and throw screens and smokes.

I'm sorry i'm not understanding where you are going with this. I did not say his play would correlate into the regular season. Why can't you just take a wait and see approach on him as opposed to already writing him off? It makes no sense. Let the guy fail first. I'm not sure what your stance is or what you're trying to say. That preseason play doesn't mean you will play well in the regular season? Ok..........and? I'm in agreement with that.
