Yeah I can understand the news sources. Some people follow people just to follow them. It reminds me of reality television, argh. My life half the time is so annoying or depressing, the last thing I want to do is watch someone elses miserable life.

I think that's what we (us Bedrock residents) are all referring to.

That's the part I don't get involved with as well. The only people that make it on my facebook account are friends and family that actually have important things to say. If any of my family and friends start spamming my page with whatever foolishness their day consist of, such as what they are doing right now and what they had to eat, they get deleted. I have before and I'll do it again!

Ha...

You are DEFINITELY in the minority then.

Why not pick up a phone and call that friend or family member...or even text?

If you have lost contact with someone over the years...there's probably a reason for that.

Nothing about FB prevents a person from doing either of those things.

I call, text, email, FB, IM, and whatever else to keep up w/friends and fam.

Why limit yourself to just those two avenues? I have family and friends that prefer not to talk on the phone or not to text (because they are cheap and don't wanna pay for the services) so they prefer to communicate with FB or IM because its free. So thats why I have a phone for those who like to talk, text messaging for those that like to text, Facebook for those who like to FB, and Instant Messaging for those that like to IM.

1) ROFL about crying about twitter. If you don't use it you don't get it. I didn't use it all for a while, tried it and thought i sucked... tried it again and find it quite useful. ***Note to follow Albert Breer and Dan Kaplan during this lock out.

2) Facebook is actually most useful in dealing with people that are somewhat removed from you like old friends from college or high school and ex co-workers or business partners. Communicating there means you can do so on your own schedule with no need for an immediate response and no need to keep up with anyone's current info beyond their name. You know people you know and generally like but don't want calling you at their convenience during Dexter.

Both tools are excellent for personal time management. You can waste all the time you want looking at your high school girlfriends new frumpy pics at your own leisure! and finally send off a note to your 2nd cousin congratz! on his alien-looking baby! And you can follow breaking news on Twitter or hilarious one liners from some very funny comedians.

One I saw: guy who shot OBL wins small talk for life.
dude 1 at party: I just bought this cherry classic 69' Stingray
dwsOBL: I put two holes in the face of OBL!

I had a discussion about a guy from PFF about rankings of safeties. And how his rankings of safeties is so fluid. For example Merriweather going from top 10 down near the 80's in a year. And how Huff went from average to top 10 last year. Of course right after that we told each other that our cats just sneezed or whatever b/c as you know that is mandatory

Funny to see all of you guys bash twitter, I'm on it everyday to see what my favorite NFL players are up too and get the latest NFL labor news, just last night I was having a conversation with Barry Church.Don't know anywhere else you can do that. (I only use twitter on my iPhone, never computer)

ANyone who ever posts these things from Chad and actually believes it's serious is a fool.

I'm sorry but you're exactly the type of person Chad is targeting with this. A fool who will buy it as real.

i don't really care what they're up to i suppose is the flipside. it's just annoying when someone comes running in here to say "so and so just twitted this!!!" and then they draw 18 ownership decisions and implications out of it.

i can get the news anywhere really. i get the "desire" to have it piped in and that's why twitter is gonna live on after facebook dies. twitter is *only* a subscription feed and doesn't pretend to be anything else.

You could easily avoid those threads, ya know. It's not like they dominate the board.

But that's the point. Everyone has a choice as to how they obtain their information.

Twitter is just another tool in a multitude of information delivery services. I don't understand why it bothers people.

I kind of agree with this, but will add something.

It does kind of get annoying, maybe not twitter itself, but some things in this world that you may not even care the least about have a way of seeping in to your life and becoming obnoxious.

One example is how Youtube is now infested with advertising. Yeah I don't care about that car you're selling but I still have to deal with it.

Another is fantasy football. I've played it myself, but sometimes when I want to hear NFL reports or coverage I don't want to hear about who to "start" on my fantasy team. But I can't really avoid it as it's a part of most NFL coverage.
