Oddly, this game was confirmation for me that the Cowboys are right there

He’s not Elite. But in NFC after Rodgers we really don’t have any Elite QB’s anymore. They are all in AFC. The rest have to build around average QB’s.

We are prob the third best team in NFC with Dak. Could be worse.
Crying that we dont have Patrick Mahomes is a waste of time.

The ironic part that 3 years ago it was Brady that was the guy. And Dak just beat Brady.

I don’t understand the part about being encouraged because they played as well as the Niners. I agree they played as well as the Niners. But they showed once again that they’ll find a way to lose. So playing as well as the other team doesn’t matter when we’ll always find more ways to lose than the other team will. That means the only way we’ll ever win is if we are way better than the other team, like last week with the Bucs. You think the Patriots won 6 Super Bowls because they were always way better than the competition? They won because they were always talented enough and found ways to beat teams. The years they didn’t win were the years they weren’t talented enough. We’re basically the opposite of the Patriots. We were good enough to win 2-3 times under Romo and 2-3 times under Dak, but we never came close because we always found a way to lose. Tonight, we buried ourselves the entire game. Just off the top of my head: missed XP to put us playing 1 point catch up all game, 2 picks that swung the score at least 10 points, defensive penalties that gave SF a TD when we could’ve held them to a FG. And even in the final drive we had two blunders: one where we didn’t run out of bounds that burned another 10 seconds, and one where we didn’t catch the ball inbounds that lost 15 yards. I count at least a 15 point swing on just mental blunders. I really didn’t see any mistakes like that from SF. So really we would’ve won by 8+ but instead lost by 7. You can’t make mistakes like that and beat good teams. And we do that every year.
Niners are just a little better. You saw it THIS game. Niners D didnt cave in the 4th quarter. Ours did. Niners D made the picks when they had the chance ours didnt.

Niners offensive playmakers made a few plays and ours didnt. McCaffrey and the TE.

They have a kicker that can make 50 yard FG's. We have a kicker that cant make an extra point.

Yah, we can disagree on that. Unlike you, I understand that the Niners have the #1 D in the NFL and it was the D that was a big reason why Dak had a bad game. Thats the difference between me and you.

And no Dak is not elite. But he is more than good enough. Plenty good enough. And the reality is that finding a QB better than Dak is not likely at all. So for better or worse, we have Dak. STill better at QB than 2/3rds of the league.

Sorry, not going to waste my time as a fan crying that my QB isnt Patrick Mahomes.
He wasn’t even Purdy and that’s really sad, Dak choked yet again

;) Well having someone call my point laughable doesn't quite sting as much after their point was just that this game proves to them that they Cowboys are right there as if they are a season away. Dak had a good game last week, in my eyes he just started slow and Brady being so bad gave him a chance to up his game. I even think under the right culture and with the proper leadership from coaches Dak could go further. This is the wrong team for him, because like Romo he just has normal leadership abilities and can't do on the field leadership to get his team mates focused on winning a major game like today. The Cowboys aren't one season away, because we still have the same problem with the team as we had before, be it Romo or Dak as the QB here.
Buddy, we just dont agree on much. And nothing you say is going to change that.

Dak is not the problem with this team. But whatever. Lets move on.

Those picks? He forced balls into coverage. That’s the QB. He shouldn’t have thrown either ball. He’s lucky that he didn’t have another pick 6 as he threw it right into Greenlaw’s chest.

You just struggle with reality. Which is weird because you are smart enough to know Elliott isn’t good enough but for some reason seem to think Dak is really good.

2/3rds the league would mean Top 10-11. That’s debatable at this point. He’s basically Cousins. You have Cousins as a top 10-11 QB?

I think once the emotions settle we’ll look back and see the progress we have made. We were arguably the 3rd best team in NFC improved from arguably 5th best team last year.

And with most of the Elite and up and coming Elite QB’s in AFC we could remain near the top in NFC.

LOL...........All you can talk about is Dak Prescott. LOL

You really have an issue buddy.

And you keep talking to me about things I have already agreed with you on.
Dak IS really good. But like you said he is not elite.

If thats a deal killer for you, then thats your problem. Maybe you are just under some kind of illusion that Elite QB's are easy to come by.

Once the emotions settle, we’ll realize progress hasn’t been made. We are largely the same team. And Jerry hasn’t shown any ability in 27 years to make the moves to get us beyond where we are.

Your being emotional. Some of us are being realistic.

Was the defense better this year or last year? How did the Oline revamp go? Did we win a playoff game? Did we play better against the niners this year or last?

Thats called progress buddy. Just because your mad we dont have Mahomes and your brain doesnt think of anything else. LOL

It’s not easy to get an elite QB. But that fact won’t blind me to the reality that ours likely isn’t good enough and has proven that now in the last two postseasons.

I know that he’s here for more years. I am left hoping that a 7 year vet somehow figures this **** out.

Defense had 2 interceptions in the first half with only 6 points. Opponents score 9 and the defense is holding it together. Epic failure on the offense.

Id agree that Jethro is no doubt the biggest obstacle. But despite his foolishness we were still able to arguably have the 3rd best team in NFC without an elite qb.

Maybe we were the same team and rest of NFC was down . But I felt our defense improved from last year. Offense wasn’t as good but we expected that with Cap moves and injuries.

I think some have too lofty expectations for this team and franchise. And while we can hold this ownership accountable for last 27 years most of this roster wasn’t even born back then.

By some of the responses I’ve heard tonite sounds like they expected to upset the 49ers.

Dak hasnt proven anything to that affect. The Niners have proven they are the better team. Something I knew before this game.

Dak has once again proven his is a top 10 QB. He has also proven that he isnt Mahomes. Which seem to be a big issue for you.

The Cowboys are right there. Niners are just a little better. In a way I am proud of this team. They showed up today and for at least half of the game, we were the better team. It wasnt like last year where we got embarrassed. We lost, but unlike the gleeful homers I didnt expect us to win. Dak didnt have a great game by any stretch, but again, against the #1 defense on the road I didnt expect him to. Dak is NOT elite. Top 10 but not elite. I thought the defense played great, they just got tired in the 4th quarter. I thought the Oline had a great game.

This game was essentially over the moment Pollard went out. I was proud of the coaching staff. It ONLY took 4 years and one playoff game, but they finally figured out how much better Pollard is than Zeke. They started Pollard and were featuring him until he went down. Sadly we had to depend on the horrid Zeke and the first two drives out of the he basically had 2 yards and 5 touches with 2 dropped passes.

Without Pollard, I think its abundantly obvious that we simply dont have enough playmakers. If I am the Cowboys I find a way to resign Pollard and Shultz and I get out of the Gallup contract if at all possible without much penalty. I make WR a priority in the offseason along with another RB to go with Pollard.

ON the road, this was a game that would come down to a one or two mistake here and there and thats exactly what happened. 2 picks by Dak, which were NOT good throws at all. Even the tipped ball he shouldnt have thrown. But again, was he feeling pressed because we cant rely on our kicker? Who knows? Niners D had 3 chances for picks and they capitalized on two of them. Well done. Cowboys had two easy picks and dropped them both. It matters. If turpin goes to the outside on that kickoff return, he has a easy TD. A few little things here and there.

Cowboys are right there. Niners/Bengals in the SB. Bengals take it all.

No doubt the clowns will blame Dak, Moore, Cooper not being here, yada yada yada so lets hear it all.

This was a very good season and the Cowboys are heading in the right direction with a great young defense and are right there at the top of the NFL in that handful of 6 or so teams that are true contenders.
LOL, so you saying Jerry's 30 year rebuilding project is right on schedule.? Whoopty Doooooo........can't wait.
