Oddly, this game was confirmation for me that the Cowboys are right there

The Cowboys are right there. Niners are just a little better. In a way I am proud of this team. They showed up today and for at least half of the game, we were the better team. It wasnt like last year where we got embarrassed. We lost, but unlike the gleeful homers I didnt expect us to win. Dak didnt have a great game by any stretch, but again, against the #1 defense on the road I didnt expect him to. Dak is NOT elite. Top 10 but not elite. I thought the defense played great, they just got tired in the 4th quarter. I thought the Oline had a great game.

This game was essentially over the moment Pollard went out. I was proud of the coaching staff. It ONLY took 4 years and one playoff game, but they finally figured out how much better Pollard is than Zeke. They started Pollard and were featuring him until he went down. Sadly we had to depend on the horrid Zeke and the first two drives out of the he basically had 2 yards and 5 touches with 2 dropped passes.

Without Pollard, I think its abundantly obvious that we simply dont have enough playmakers. If I am the Cowboys I find a way to resign Pollard and Shultz and I get out of the Gallup contract if at all possible without much penalty. I make WR a priority in the offseason along with another RB to go with Pollard.

ON the road, this was a game that would come down to a one or two mistake here and there and thats exactly what happened. 2 picks by Dak, which were NOT good throws at all. Even the tipped ball he shouldnt have thrown. But again, was he feeling pressed because we cant rely on our kicker? Who knows? Niners D had 3 chances for picks and they capitalized on two of them. Well done. Cowboys had two easy picks and dropped them both. It matters. If turpin goes to the outside on that kickoff return, he has a easy TD. A few little things here and there.

Cowboys are right there. Niners/Bengals in the SB. Bengals take it all.

No doubt the clowns will blame Dak, Moore, Cooper not being here, yada yada yada so lets hear it all.

This was a very good season and the Cowboys are heading in the right direction with a great young defense and are right there at the top of the NFL in that handful of 6 or so teams that are true contenders.

As a young fan, I agree. I think that there were some deficiencies that need to be fixed. However, there are many things to take from this season in a good way. We need to draft a new RB and get a new kicker. Those and a new WR would help a lot.

They are not any closer than they were last year, there wasn’t a TB along the way last season. This is the ceiling with Dak and this offense.

LOL, so you saying Jerry's 30 year rebuilding project is right on schedule.? Whoopty Doooooo........can't wait.
Well for a guy that predicted 8-9 and missing the playoffs I would think you would be happy with the outcome.

You doom and gloomers have egg on your face two years running.

It’s not easy to get an elite QB. But that fact won’t blind me to the reality that ours likely isn’t good enough and has proven that now in the last two postseasons.

I know that he’s here for more years. I am left hoping that a 7 year vet somehow figures this **** out.
The longer we go it’s unlikely . Maybe he’s not good enough for this team to have more success. But as I look around the NFC most teams are building around less.

Maybe next time we’ll get an Elite QB like all of those in AFC. Imagine if we are over there without Mahomes, Burrows, Wilson, Herbert or Lawrence. We’d really be screwed. Lol

NO, I see a big difference than last year. This team came to play. Yes they still had the dumb little things, but nowhere near what they had last year. This team is RIGHT there, especially with this defense. We know the offense is in a bit of a restructuring. AT RB, WR and Oline.
What?!? Were you watching the same game as I was? How ‘bout your two-INT chucking QB? I notice that’s not even on your radar. How’s THAT?

Put the booze down.
Not here. I’m just trying to play devils advocate. It’s not as bad as some think. We have arguably the third best team in NFC with a dysfunctional ownership , GM and without an Elite QB,

We aren’t winning anything important anytime soon. Rinse wash repeat.

If thats what you got over a blowout of the Bucs on the road and a hard fought close loss to the best team in the NFL, then that is your opinion.
I’m gladdened that you are so easily consoled. Many of us are not. Deal.

Dak has once again proven his is a top 10 QB. He has also proven that he isnt Mahomes. Which seem to be a big issue for you.
So basically we have to hope Dak gets to face soft defenses in the playoffs because apparently it’s too much to ask for our supposed Top 10 QB to not play terrible in the biggest game of the season.

Think about what you are saying. Dak is definitely a Top 10 QB but we shouldn’t expect our Top 10 QB to play at least decently against a really good defense.

That’s an interesting analysis right there.

Oh, where would you rank Hurts as a QB? Since he faces the 49ers next, it would be interesting to see where you think Hurts ranks relative to Dak.

It would help to not have to play the Niners.

And no thats not my analysis, thats one you made up. NIners are the best defense. Not my fault you dont understand that concept. LOL

Cutting Zeke would certainly help the cause.

And again, last week Dak had 300 yards and 5 TD's. Where was this "biggest game of the season" talk last week? Hiding under a rock again?

We should expect him to struggle more against top defense. And hopefully not totally stink it up like he did.

But we also could have used a couple dropped interceptions from our league leading turnover defense which played good enough for most of the game until 4th qtr when it folded against the run again.
