Welcome, keep the info coming. There probably will be some slams, but don't let that stop you from posting.

Just to set the record straight, it was not an alien, it was someone in an alien costume.

Which reminds me I need to return something to the costume shop.

Hey, I have been a Cowboys fan for 25 years now but I work for another NFL franchise. Because of my position, I get info from time to time about the Cowboys. For instance, at the Combine talking with scouts and agents I would hear tidbits now and then. I was posting this stuff on the Ranch Report but immature posters there slammed me even though I was giving them info they couldn't get anyplace else. I received a PM there that said I should come over to this board. Now, not everything I hear comes true but I do talk to a lot of people from the inside so if you would like me to post what I hear and not say "That's bull****" every time I post, I would be glad to share my info with you guys.

I'm not trying to sell anything, I just like to talk about the things I hear with knowledgable Cowboy fans. Something I didn't get at the Ranch. If you want me to post when information comes my way, let me know. However, if I get the same reaction here that I got at the Ranch, I will stop posting just like I did there. I'm very busy and the only reason I do this is because I remember what it was like to be a Cowboys fan trying to find info but places like ESPN don't tell you anything. Trust me, you would be surprised how little work they really do. So, all I ask is you don't slam me personally. Remember, the info I put out, is just that: info. If it's something bad about the Cowboys, it's not coming from me, it's coming from someone I have talked with. I love the Cowboys. So, let me know what you all think. Hopefully this is a much more educated group than the morons they have assembled over at the Ranch. Also, I will obviously never reveal my sources or who I work for because that could get me in trouble. It's up to you guys. Let me know. Take care.

DD81 Welcome! Thank you very much for coming over. You know whenever a situation like this comes up there will be people who are unsure. Mainly because of getting burned in the past. It is a natural reaction.

With that being said, I do not think you will find a better place than this to be at, participate, and share your knowledge/information.

This is a great place, and I can assure you there are hundreds of folks here that want to hear from you, including myself.

Please dont let any negative remarks, or people who are questioning you ruin it for the rest of us.

I used to be over at the Ranch a long time ago, and since I found this place 2 or 3 years ago, I never returned to the Ranch. you made a good decision.

Keep it coming, and look forward to hearing more in the future!:star:

You seem to be presenting the info as just that and in a humble manner. Thats cool in my book. Welcome aboard in any regard.

On TO, I could see him ending up in Dallas because 1) Jerry loves impact, marquee players, 2) TO likes lots of attention and what better place that Dallas for that 3) Jerry has deep pockets and certainly no reputation for being a cheapskate. Rather he has a strong reputation for taking care of his own. 4) Jerry is commited to winning and I think that too is part of TO's equation.

But do I think Parcells would have more leverage with TO than other coaches because of his reputation? No. I think there are plenty of coaches, players, orgs etc that respect Parcells but don't necessarily consider him above the rest. He doesn't walk on water and he no doubt has his share of enemies. I just don't see the point of this guy's thinking with Parcells.

On the other hand I think it could work with Parcells more than some others because I think there would be a tight rein from day one. I also think with the Philly debacle behind him TO might actually realize that the ice is growing ever thinner under his feet in this league. How many more chances with big paydays will he get. That's not a factor of Parcells. Its a factor of having had tumultuous splits now with SF, Balt & Philly. I think there is a chance that TO now rethinks to some degree how he handles himself and that the constant bickering, in the end, has done him no good.

We shall see.

Frankly, I enjoy hearing the "grapevine" talk whether all of it ever materializes or not.
Im with you on that one, if nothing else it makes the offseason more interesting and its better than reading some of them ridicilous trade suggestions that get posted.

Parcells may not, but I guarantee, Michael Irvin does. Irvin cleverly fed Owens the Cowboys spoon ever since the beginning of last year and became Owens best friend and number one outlet when the crap hith the fan in Philly. Added with Parcells intrigue, Jones' signing prowless, and revenge against the Eagles twice a year, I could easily see Owens being very interested in Dallas.

And Welcome Doomsday81, your post was sweet music to my ears.

Just as long as your brother isn't in law enforcement....

In Dallas....

And makes an arrest of a notable person....

And relays the info to a well respected existing member....

That in turn shares those very same facts....

You'll be fine....:D

Nice car, **. I'm totally jealous... Your new love machine, perhaps? :p:

Thank you very much, WG. Love machine? I don't know about that... but it sure is great driving around in it.

I'm an outside rep and I cover the whole state of Mississippi, so I do quite a bit of driving. Since I spend so much time in the car... I thought I'd get something that I really like to be in!

Gas mileage isn't quite what I'd like... but it isn't too bad.

That's not the actual picture of it... Mine's white with charcoal interior and has a front and rear spoiler. Mine's also a 2006 model and I think the pic I have is 2005.

Anyway... thanks again WG!

Honestly, the only "insider" on the Zone that I'm 100% positive is the real deal is Pittdawg. And we've had a few of 'em. I think BrownSugar once broke some big news before anyone heard rumors, or it even made sense, but I don't recall what it was about. Speaking of, what hapened to BrownSugar? Still... it's fun to read these threads even if the info doesn't end up being anything we couldn't have already guessed.

Oh why don't just come out of the closet instead of this cloak and dagger :laugh2:

Oh btw, Welcome DD81, I enjoy all rumours/info, even if I don't believe them, well until they are proven correct. Like many said here, obviously, not everything you hear might turn out true, so biggie. And ofcourse expect people to question, you, some knuckle heads I believe drove away BrownSugar who used to post lot of inside info, almost always right on the money too.

So just ignore the few knuckleheads, and you should be a great addition to this board.

Didn't brown sugar leave her job with the Cowboys to go into real estate, or something like that?

Thanks DD81, I appreciate the info, keep it coming.
When you refer to the Ranch, I didn't know there were other boards, I only know of this one :D
Well, ok, when I hear the Ranch mentioned, I can only think of one Ranch, in Arlington called Fantasy Ranch...:lmao2: Good place too.

I like the info on TO...that's a different perspective I haven't seen yet, and makes a lot of sense.

Well here is some stuff I picked up at the Combine last week. Some of this may be old news to you by now:

Players that told me personally that the Cowboys were showing them a lot of interest were DE Manny Lawson, LB Bobby Carpenter, CB Kelly Jennings, S Dwayne Slay and WR Hank Baskett. Lawson said he had two interviews with Dallas and they were one of three teams showing the most interest in him. Slay actually compared his game to Williams saying if a receiver comes over the middle, he wants to make sure they know there is someone waiting for them.

A very good source told me today that Wilie McGinest will be released by the Patriots for certain in the next two weeks and that his chances of returning to the team are very slim. Now, I don't know if the Cowboys would be interested in him but as we all know, you can never count out a player who used to play for Parcells reuniting with him.

I'm sure you have had a lot of T.O. discussions here but a lot of NFL people at the Combine told me that they think he will end up in Dallas and I had a pretty important person tell me earlier in the week that after Parcells met with Drew Rosenhaus last week, this is close to a done deal. One person told me, "Parcells is a smart man and he knows he has T.O. by the balls. Owens has no leverage anymore. If he goes to Dallas and screws up under a guy with Parcells' reputation, he'll practically get blackballed fro the league. He only has one strike left and no matter what you think of T.O., he's smart enough to realize one more screw up could cost him his career. On the other hand, if plays nice in Dallas for a year or two, teams will offer him all the money he wants. Right now, Parcells has all the control and he knows it."

A person who works for the Cowboys told me he thought Oregon's Kellen Clemens has a chance to be one of the best quarterbacks to come out of this draft. That's a guy you might want to keep an eye on for day two of the draft.

A league source told me yesterday that Jerry Jones gets a bad rap as an owner. He said that the local TV revenue teams get is in large part due to Jones. He went on to say, "Ten years ago when Jones was doing all those things with Nike and getting crap for it, other teams were doing the exact same thing. They just flew under the radar while Jones took the bullet for everyone because he knew it was good for the league. Actually, Jones has taken the bullet on more than one occassion. People think it's guys like Jones who are ruining the league when it's guys like the Rooneys who still think it's the 50s who are actually ruining the NFL right now."

That's all I can think of for now but if I get anything else, I will pass it along if people are interested. Like I said, if people don't want it, I will just go away. I am not trying to prove anything here.
This is good stuff. The only part I'm not sure about is the discussion of TO and what will happen if he plays well in Dallas for a couple of years. I think this next contract for him, wherever he goes, is his last chance at big money. He's 32. No one is going to pay big money for a 34-year-old receiver.

I would like to have more info on the QB that was mentioned. I haven't heard his name before. Boy would I like for a good QB to fly under the radar and be picked up on the second day, ala Brady.

Informed (and uninformed) speculation with decent discussion are what make this board a pretty good spot to 'hang out' in. I have already enjoyed what you've had to say and I'll be looking forwards to your posts with great interest.:starspin
