There's a scene from Family Guy, where the family is exiting a movie theater showing No Way Out, and Chris wonders aloud, "How does Kevin Costner keep finding work???" I think the same thing about Weeden.
It's rare that I actively root for a player to make roster but I am doing so for Ben Gardner. I believe he will be a good rotational player for this defensive line.

NFI stands for Non Football Injury.

Non-Football Injury. It really means an injury that occurred before the player was signed. While his injury was a college football injury, it was not an injury that occurred while he was with the Cowboys.
The rules are basically the same of the PUP/IR rules but there are differences in compensation.
He could be activated (moved to the 53) in week 7.

stickying this and having cuts made with a strike-through on names and a list for PS added at the bottom would be pretty cool IMHO.
As you note it would give us one handy post; even it did require lots of updating....
maybe a mod can help you.

I've been disappointed with Gardner. He just has not done much and he's played against some 3rd string OLinemen that are not very good.
He can blow up a block by a TE which he has done a few times, but he has not had much success against OLinemen. He did have 1 sack but he generally has not done much. He does look like he knows how to play the game, but I just don't know if he is strong enough or quick enough. Both Russell and Edwards look better physically.

The coaching staff knows what they have in Dunbar, so if he's on the bubble, what Gus Johnson can do would say more than what Dunbar can/can not

Minor point, but the injury doesn't necessarily have to have occurred prior to signing. For example, JPP of the NYFG could be placed on NFI because of the fireworks thing.

Yes, I started to include that explanation but I figured it would just make the answer more complicated when comparing it to the PUP. I'm not certain how it works if the injury occurs during the season. If JPP had been injured in September, could he go on NFI, not take up a roster spot and then return that same season?

I can easily get that down to 6 to 7 players, really to 4. Depending on how many they keep at certain positions.
Main one being if they keep 3 or 4. QB's.
5th WR or do they keep 6 which I doubt. Doubt they keep 4 RBs too.
8 or 9 OL
3 or 4 TE's
8 or 9 DB's
6 or 7 LB's until Ro returns
And then how many DL they keep 9, 10, 11 until Hardy returns
