Agreed - but the depth of the Oline is pretty dang weak. If they are making a push this year, shore it up with experience over youth.

Ok after reading this tweet I believe I know what’s happening here. Lewis said he was a week away, so by putting him on the 53 he can start practicing when he is ready (1-week?). Making his return to action quicker then putting him on PUP where he can’t practice therefore making his return to game action that much longer.

Just a guess as to their thinking.

Because we are just over a week away from starting the regular season...and bringing in new olinemen can take weeks for they to learn the playbook and build cohesion with a new team.

4-weeks that he can’t practice, making his return what around game 5 maybe 6? If he starts practicing next week, he can be ready by game 2 maybe 3???

As it stands now the only backup linemen on the roster are Matt Waletzko, Asim Richards, TJ Bass, and Alex Taylor. Thinking Taylor's name comes up soon as a cut and they are looking at a guy from another team I hope.

His college draft report says he played T and G, most T. If he played C the other night it was only a few plays at most because Hoffman was in most of the game and Lindstrom finished it.
