My dream scenario for tomorrow..
Round 2: Tevin Coleman or Ameer Abdullah
Round 3: Paul Dawson

Regardless of what all our opinions are concerning the draft. Byron Jones is a Cowboy now. Not who I wanted but I have a feeling we will all be singing this guys praises this season.....GO BYRON JONES and GO COWBOYS

Dude, go back and check the threads. The pick was universally lauded, at least on this forum.

I think they're mixing up the Travis Fredrick pick with the Martin pick

As for passing on Brown there's always fan backlash when we pass up on a Longhorn it goes with the territory

Athletic freak, great head on his shoulders and strives to get better. That shoulder surgery in 2014 has me worried, him only having a couple years of experience at CB is also a worry.

But the biggest thing here is, I just can't get excited about CBs in the first round. I won't criticize the pick though, he was the best player on the board and a position we needed to upgrade. Understandable and the staff seemed to love the pick.

He'll most likely play Fs and Cb. We need help at Fs.

You are mostly correct, however you forget the vocal rueage that was the non Manziel pick. The Brown crowd in this thread kind of reminds me of the Manziel crowd from last year honestly (not comparing the players or their merits mind you, just the reactions).

With bubble screens and quick passes QBs don't hold on to the ball anymore unless it's like 3rd and 10. With our DL teams will still run it down our throat and make it 3rd and 4 every time. Byron Jones does nothing to fix the 1-legged QB domination problem.

And the d-line never gets there on those passes as well...so not sure what your point is....corners that are on their guys DO make a difference in the QB holding the ball longer whether you want to believe it or not. I'm not saying that we have a great d-line, we don't....but we also didn't have a great backfield either. Our coaches need to do a better job of creating schemes that can get to the QB....seems ours are always a bit behind. Surprising we were 12-4 with the d-line that we had...but we were.

As I posted, DTs generally get very few sacks. There are a FEW exceptions, but my post was 100% accurate.

No it wasn't. I'm not going to argue with you about that. The pick should had been a DT. You build your team through the trenches. It's over.

Someone gets it.

All the negative comments are pretty funny. It reminds me of the last couple years and then a couple months into the season everyone is eating crow. I trust this regimes drafts. We've done pretty well in the draft the last five years so ill hold emotional outburst. I still remember people whining because we didnt get Sharrif Floyd a couple years back. That seemed to work out for the team.

I don't think Dallas will ignore DL but we also had needs at CB and got a very good CB. As for Hardy again I'm not a fan of his but I know he is a very capable DE with good size and speed. I think if all you want to do is focus on DL and to hell with the secondary I think that is a big mistake to take that attitude. Dallas has Scandrick that is it. Carr and Claiborne has been a disappointment are we to continue to count on them?

This. Look at the receiving corp we're going to face our fist game. Scary.
