I doubt that Johnson is even on the Cowboys board - work ethic issues and a failed drug test at the combine.

Seastrunk is a small, quick RB who was not a pass catcher out of the backfield. Jeffcoat is only regarded because of his name - if his father didn't play at a high level in the NFL, I doubt that he is regarded at all (he's small and his speed is average). Dion Bailey is a S projection who didn't run well at the combine.

lol well keep in mind we're talking about taking these guys in the 6-7 round, we're not looking for day-one starters. But I watched every Texas game last year and Jeffcoat can play. Seemed like he was always in the backfield disrupting the play. And Seastrunk isn't an every down back, and obviously wouldn't be with Demarco Murray, just a guy who can come in a get some first downs with his speed. As far as Johnson goes... the 7th round is the perfect place to take a risk on guys with off the field issues, and he has a fourth round grade at a position we need. And yeah Bailey is a project, but would still be a good value pick in the 7th.

I would look at the OT from Canada in the 7th if he is still there.

what has ANYBODY seen in ben bass in his 3 NFL games to think he is anything other than a JAG?
i think its more HOPE than anything

I get what you are saying but I watched him at TC a couple of years ago and he is powerful and explosive. We do need to see him do it in games against top competition at full speed I agree though.

People like it when young players work their way up the depth chart. And then again when they get unsolicited praise from starters. Go figure. That said, I've yet to see anybody counting on the guy to be anything more than a rotational player for us. What I can't understand is other fans downplaying that potential based off of nothing more than what little they may or may not have noticed of his play in just 3 NFL games.

I never want to see that scumbag in a cowboys uniform ever again.

Get used to the idea, because it's going to happen. And he'll probably be a decent player for us in that capacity, too.

Antone Exum just got picked by the Vikings. Was hoping the Cowboys might steal him late. If he fully recovers from his injury, he's a huge steal in the 6th.

David Fales to the Bears. Didn't want him around when the Cowboys picked next.

The coaches like him and Hatcher loved the guy. He's never said a word about other players so that means something to me. He caught people's eye last year in camp.

Why would you even reference his games played here? He went on IR for an ankle injury Dec 2012 and never played a down last year after dislocating his shoulder going on IR for the entire year. We'll see what he has this year. I'm more concerned about his shoulder than his play. But you're entitled to your opinion. He certainly doesn't have a great track record.

i am not dogging on him, i just wouldnt rely on him, hence he wouldnt affect any non drafting of DL.

I don't buy that for a second.

Only time will tell. I can't imagine the organization sticking with him the way they did and then not giving him a shot again when he's eligible for reinstatement. What's more, I don't think any decision by the league is going to have him missing more than 4 games, at the most. Maybe less. He should be out in mid-June, and eligible to participate in camp at what's a relative position of need for us. He's a good player. We're going to welcome him back.

Are any good DTs still on the board? Quarles, Bishop, and whoever else.

I'd agree: we can't rely on him. He's a rotational guy, and we need more of those, anyway. But I do think the team is fairly high on him for what he is.

I think people would like it a lot more if he climbed the depth chart based off of merit, and not roster attrition. I also think people would like it a lot better if he could actually stay healthy long enough to play.

You'd think that, but then he does, and all they do is complain about him. I can't imagine any of us, or Ben Bass himself, don't want the guy healthy and on the field. It's a shame that players get hurt in this game, but it does tend to happen now and then.
