I thought I read they were trying smith at OLB.

Not sure what that means about him being a DE now.

If I'm going to pick over scraps, best to start at the top.

The fact is that not one of the players we have on this defense would start over their counterpart in Seattle.

Not one.

A sobering fact.

So if we can scoop up someone close to that level who didn't make their cut may mean we actually do improve and close that gap.

Not even mo?

Haha no thanks to Jazzy Jeff-coat.

What a fall that guy took, huh

Not sure he had far to fall from. I think this board was the only place in the world thinking he was really worth a mid round pick.

We all cheer for this team to win but 8-8 for 3 years and no playoffs gives Jerry and the homers a false sense of Imminent greatness. This team is at least 2-3 years from being good that with good drafting.. By that time we'll have a new QB, a new coach and hopefully a new GM.

You talking about the past, you have no idea what this season will bring. We could go all the way and win the superbowl, we could lose every game. Nobody knows. Thats why we play the game and im not throwing the towel in before the first game is played.

So an udfa cut early is better than anyone we have?

Don't use sober while making that statement.

The Bills cut him because he was drunk on gameday. 14 Hours before a game and registers a .14. Yeah, let's go get this guy. Sounds like a plan.

I don't know if .14 warrants a guy being drunk. A guy his size is prolly a six pack to get to they BAC. Timing was not good for sure and driving while impaired is a no-no but let's tap the brakes on drunk on game day.

To be fair, he'd be clear of alcohol in about 8 hours at his size.

Would you give up Suh for Mo? I don't think anyone in their right mind would. We'd have to overpay for Suh.

Don't have to resign him but we need the help for a year. Probably can get a third rounder and Suh for Mo. What kind of impact will Mo give us this year? The guy is a bust.

That remains to be unseen. Without pressure from the edges our secondary will be in for some long games.

I wouldn't give up a 3rd for a loner. Even if that package included Mo.

Ask yourself a simple question when approaching these types of issues..

WHAT WOULD TOM LANDRY DO?

This isn't Tom Laundry's NFL. As much as I love me some Laundry, I really don't care what he would do with this situation tbh.

This team is at least 2-3 years from being good that with good drafting..

Given some of our history with high first round picks, I don't think having a top 5 pick guarantees any kind of draft success. In fact I believe the most important parts of the draft are rounds 2+, and stockpiling those picks would be beneficial. The draft is a crap shoot anyway, round 1 included. So might as well concentrate on getting good value in rounds 2-5. That's how all the good teams do it.

If I had my way, I'd trade out of the 1st round every draft, unless there was somehow a guaranteed stud in our laps.

Last year during the draft when JJ stated that the DL was a position of strength when most regarded it as not.

Its hard to argue against Ratliff, Hatcher, Ware and Spencer. 4 Pro Bowlers at some point in their careers. Didnt' factor in 3 of the 4 would be hurt.

Given our situation, anyone with the last name "Jeffcoat" should get a tryout.

I'll bite .Melton if his healthy

And there's that phrase again that we've seen all too often.

"If he's healthy."

Not only is he not healthy, we still don't know how well he's recovered from his ACL surgery.
