I enjoy the series but feel that the male bashing is getting too heavy-handed. I don’t know who’s so angry but I don’t need it thrust in my face with every episode.
It’s a lot from a lot of episodes. Burnham constantly interrupts Pike and he allows it.
She pushes Saru out of the way because she can scan things better than her science officer.
Hell, in S2 E1. She tells Saru how to use his own eyes.
She can fly better and pulled more Gs than anyone in Starfleet.
Burnham tells the current Enterprise science guy what to do, he doesn’t listen, gets blown up.
Only Burnham can save Pike.
Only Burnham can fix the ship stranded on an asteroid by jiggling wires while the chief engineer looks on helplessly.
Discovery is full of top notch scientists running all kinds of experiments. Only Burnham can figure out how to get the dark matter asteroid into the shuttle bay.
Season three’s awful Osyrra storyline where her male nephew is incompetent and then murdered. Like his father was as well.
The mirror universe fights. The men always lose.
Even the recent episodes. Who did the female space ninja kill again? Oh yeah a male starship captain.
Plenty more. That’s just off the top of my head.
It’s overt.
I’m all for equality but male bashing is too much.

Oh, I see. I thought you meant talking crap about men. You're talking about female empowerment. Yeah, it's rampant, and not just on Star Trek. As far as Burnham, yeah, they go a little too far, but the captains have always been the ones who could do anything better than anyone else. I agree though, I'm getting weary of the overcompensating in Hollywood.
Finally started watching Yellowstone. I'd heard good things about it but didn't really know what the story was about. Holy crap on the violence! I'm enjoying the show and it's cool to see Cole Hauser get another good role. Rip is awesome. Scratch Montana off my list of potential places to move though. Not worth it.

I don't get the highly trained small females fighting and killing multiple or many highly trained men. Even 1 v 1 is not believable. One of the few occasions they don't make the men stupid, clumsy, and feminized is when women are fighting them.
They need to show the clips of the men in ufc fighting women to hollywood producers, and show their skulls getting cracked

There are definitely a lot of agendas being pushed in the show, but it's only fair if you think about it given how Star Trek TV shows have traditionally focused on male leadership roles.
I avoided the show initially but eventually watched it and liked it. I really like the Burnham character and the actress who plays her. I also like Saru, but I am not really attached to any of the other characters as they all seem surface level. I know if Burnham ever leaves the show I would definitely stop watching it.
About the only main complaint I have against the show is it spends way too much time on feely-talk scenes. One every few episodes would make them special, but they do them constantly to the point I fast forwarded through many of those conversations.
There are plenty of other "that would never happen" things such as repeated Star Fleet rule violations and insubordinations without any repercussions or promoting Tilly to first officer as an ensign when there are higher ranking officers on the ship. That move really diluted the first officer position heavily and made Burnham's first officer position accomplishment seem nothing more than "best friend" rewards.
Overall though, the storylines of the first three seasons (have not watched season 4 yet) are really good and interesting and the film quality is really impressive.

I agree with all of this, especially the part with all the heartfelt talks. That was worse in the first couple of seasons, when they had a minute or two to save the universe, but "not until I get this off my chest". Lol

I’m A-OK with the diversity and female leadership roles. Bring it on. It’s the outward male bashing I take issue with.
I actually kind of like some of those ‘talky moments’ where the supporting characters get at least some attention. I love Burnham, but I feel the show is entirely too focused on her. She has to do EVERYTHING.
It can be funny at times because you are almost expecting someone to say, "Send out the bat signal for Burnham" because she seems to always be the one with the right answers to every problem.

EVERY issue. EVERY problem. EVERY mission. I know the original was Kirk-centric too, but I felt they learned from that with Picard and Next Generation. But now I feel like they’ve gone back to that same well with a different gender.

To quote Clint Barton, "This has gotten very real, very quickly."
I have zero expectation of seeing him in this series BUT I do hope that the tease from tonight's episode is a sign that Charlie Cox will make an appearance in the current MCU. Eventually. In some capacity at the very least. No matter how large or small. (keeping fingers crossed)

I don’t know if you saw the news, but Kevin Feige confirmed that Charlie Cox will be the MCU’s Daredevil wherever and whenever the character appears again.

I'm more excited that Yelena is in this episode. For my money, she's the perfect girl to play Natasha's sister, and the perfect replacement for her. I couldn't stop smiling the whole time she was talking to Kate.
I kinda freaked a little watching this episode, because I just went under that Pershing Square Plaza bridge last week, for the first, second, and third times in my life. (It's a whole "No left turn" anywhere thing. I had to go almost all the way to the end of 42 Street before I just decided to make a right, left, left, left, then go back under the bridge and take a right on Lexington to get to 39th... Man, I hate that city!)
Anyway, it's pretty cool to realize I just went where the Avengers first assembled![spoiler/]
