I wrote a little about The Batman in the movies thread, but overall, a 7/10 for me. Didn't like Pattinson in the role (too scrawny). Liked the story though, and fell in love with Selena Kyle. I liked that they didn't go crazy with the costumes, but I don't like the Batsuit. His car was cool as Hell though.

I liked their choice for Alfred a lot, and most of the other casting too, but I think they could've done better with the Riddler.

I thought they did a great job with things overall and I appreciated a more realistic and limited approach they took to it. About as ‘down to earth’ as any Batman film I’ve seen.

And Andy Serkis is a good actor. Just don’t let him direct!

Sadly, I fell asleep halfway through Strange New Worlds last night, but I liked a lot of what I did see.

I agree with the more realistic aspect of it. I was thinking about that while I was watching it. Most of it seemed somewhat plausible.

I am not a Pual Dano fan, reminds me too much of Casey Affleck in his mannerisms.

I think the movie was too long and drawn out. I also think they were too into the set designs carrying the scenes.

There is a reason for that. They used LED volume stages to shoot the movie. Check out the extras for the movie on HBO Max. There is a really good one about how it was shot.

The whole city looked like a place nobody would stay in.

Does anyone like Picard?

Just finished the season finale. I liked this season a lot. The ending was great. I know they have already shot most of season 3. It will be a while before it comes out but I'm looking forward to it.

The season finale was really good. Seeing John de Lancie play Q, perhaps for the last time, was fun too.

The series is solely about Jean Luc. It took me a minute to recognize that. Much is done to support Patrick Stewart from not carrying the show all my himself but no one should make the mistake that the series deviates away from him at all either.

I haven't watched the finale yet, but I've loved the show from the first 5 minutes.

Just finished watching Picard. Fantastic finale.

I was expecting Picard to tell Q, "I wish I'd known we were friends." [Spoiler/]

I actually haven’t started the second season of Picard yet. I thought the first season was good, but not great. It moved much slower than Discovery (at that time anyway) so I wasn’t in a rush to go back to it. Sounds like maybe I should.

The first few episodes of the first season was, hard to get through as it was so slow.

The second season does not have that issue.

I really enjoyed the the first episode Star Trek Strange New Worlds and have high hopes for the series going forward.
It is still too early but it would not surprise me this particular ensemble cast ends up better than the actors making up Discovery or Picard. Feels like some very good chemistry all around. I fully expect Rebecca Romijn as Number One will be stealing more than a few scenes in the episodes to come.

Was not a fan of the latest Batman.

Pattinson just doesn't do it for me. The brooding was just a carryover from Twilight; I half expected Kristen Stewart to make a cameo at some point. I also thought the movie was about 45 minutes too long.

That said, I did appreciate the way they made the villains more human than comic book characters. The overall imagery of Gotham was good too.

There is only one suitable punishment for mentioning that name.

You must be forced to watch Aro Volturi speak on repeat...

Watched the final episode of Moon Knight. I was hoping it would make the whole series worth it, but it didn't. I think if it wasn't carrying the Marvel label, I would've enjoyed it more, but you know...expectations and all.

I've been binging Archer on Hulu lately. I'd seen a few episodes years ago, but didn't watch it regularly. I don't think there's been a single episode that didn't evoke at least one or two big laughs. The lines they come out with are friggin' hilarious.

I actually liked the first season a lot more than the second one. I could barely watch some of the season two episodes as they were so predictable and drawn out.

The second season was a typical Hollywood tactic to low-budget a sci-fi show by filming most of it in present day except normally they just do it one or two episodes to cover the costs of more expensive higher budget episodes.

In this case, they did it for most of the season and that after a 2 year delay.

It was obvious the second season was all about reliving the storylines of ST-TNG that were good back then for 1-2 episodes except they dragged them out for much of the season.

There were so many great directions they could have gone with season 2 had they just continued on from season one's storyline but instead they chose to go cheap and think that returning/replaying a few old characters and storylines would compensate.
