I only watched Episode 1, but I will get to the rest soon enough. Episode 1 reminded me of a Sugar Ray Leonard boxing match where Leonard would dance around for 2 and a half minutes then throw a flurry of punches in the last seconds to steal the round. I am not judging the entire series, just episode 1.
It gets much, much better.

Ben Kenobi in A New Hope was in hiding but the minute he heard the Leia's message, he knew what he had to do without hesitation.

Perhaps the reason for is lack of hesitation is his character's development from this series. Seems you want a Gary Stu type which is less interesting to me than a character with depth

I predicted a while back the streaming services would pull a bait-and-switch by promising if people paid they would not show commercials only to later start adding them in slowly.

When enough people complain, they will then likely offer a higher priced "commercial-free" version of their streaming services.

Hulu has had different tiers of service since their inception, I believe. Some of the newer streaming services, such as Peacock copied that M.O.. I think the older, larger streaming services are thinking that if it works for those companies, why not try it for themselves. It is different thing when a company does it from the start rather than changing approaches mid-stream(pun intended). I feel subscribers will initially balk if Netflix or the other big companies do this.

I've been watching Hulu for about 6 months, maybe, and it may be my imagination, but it seems like the more I watch, the more frequent the commercials are.

I remember ESPN radio bragging about how they were testing sports commentator ads to eliminate some of the commercial breaks to improve their broadcasts for listeners only to keep all of their commercial breaks and add sports commentator advertisements as well.

No matter what they say or what they offer, as soon as they see a chance to increase their gains they will.

No doubt. Making money is the first, second and third priority for them.

I used to have CBS All Access. They charged $5 a month with ads, and $10 a month commercial free. Amazon is more than $10 a month now. You'd think they would let prime subscribers watch Bosch ad free since they are paying a month fee. But Amazon seems to be leading the league in annoyances. They also started dropping one episode per week for their more popular series, like The Expanse. But, I also get free shipping so I guess I am getting a bargain.

Some testing was conducted back in the 80/90’s regarding commercial tolerance and sports talk tested the highest tolerance and they allowed commercial loads to a higher level than AM Top 40 stations in the 60’s which was 18 minutes an hour.

They also sell “coming up” to a ridiculous level and if you pay close attention, you will notice that because of the limited content within a 4 hour program, they repeat everything.

Tried Bosch since I watched all of the others but the commercials and the actress playing his daughter made me give up. She has one expression, frowny face.

The Prehistoric Planet on Apple+ is very good and reminds me of the National Parks one with creatures and their habits that were new to me.

I like animals better than most people and I am certain I would have liked dinosaurs better too, even the ones that considered me a snack.

I’m following it. Attenborough is the bomb.

Don't have to do good deeds, do I? Got a record I am really proud of and if attending from home is necessary, I'll hang out at the corner C store until service is over and then go home.

Thread question about Stranger Things 4:

Actor Joseph Quinn plays Eddie Munson. Has anyone else gotten a young Robert Downey Jr. vibe from him playing this role?
Absolutely spot on.
His expressions, the way he carries himself and his movements all scream a young RDJ.

I've enjoyed his character so far.

Just finished the 7 episodes and have loved them. Can't wait for the last two.

We Own This City, HBO. I am a Bernthal fan after The Punisher but this was hard to watch as the acting was really poor, including him. I gave up after the first episode

Watched the movie "Outpost" last night on Netflix. It is a true story about a US Army outpost in the mountains of Afghanistan. It is a little slow at times, but it gets pretty intense at the end. It is a really good story of courage under fire and persevering under terrible odds and horrible conditions. Sometimes you just have to wonder how anyone can keep it together in impossible life and death situations.

I am glad they made a movie out of this story because the bravery of these men is a story that had to be told. It is why we have a Memorial Day.

I definitely recommend it.

Really liked that and Extraction, the one with Hemsworth is good too. I think they're making a follow up.

Star Trek: SNW episode 5 - Very disappointed.
A Freaky Friday episode...really? Then on top of that, the other story, in which the first officer and head of security run around the ship playing "Enterprise Bingo"?

This is more like a story for The Orville.
