I just started watching House of the Dragon on HBO. I was waiting to binge watch it but decided to watch the first 4 episodes now.
It's okay. It is not Game of Thrones. I can see they tried to make it like GoT but GoT had multiple storylines going at once which kept it interesting all the time. House of the Dragon drags at times. The characters are not nearly as interesting. It looks more like a depiction of old English history with the usual palace intrigue - and dragons.
I am enjoying the series but nowhere near as much as I enjoyed GoT from the very first episode. I will keep watching but House of the Dragon needs to pick up some steam in a hurry to avoid becoming ordinary.

The dragons looks different in House of the Dragons than they did in GoT. The GoT dragons looked a little more fierce and not so skinny.
The GoT cast was exceptional. There are some clear misfit in the cast of House of the Dragons. For one, Matt Smith, who was a great fit as Prince Philip in The Crown, is not a good Daemon. He sounds like he takes a puff of helium before he recites his lines which detracts from the character he is supposed to be.
