I can't believe I was so late to the party, but I finally watched Chernobyl.

Awesome series.

My wife and I were flying home and Chernobyl was one of the video options on the plane. I heard it was a good series so I figured it was a good a time to watch as any other. We were able to watch the first 3 episodes (the ones available on the plane). I purchased the last 2 episodes from Amazon Prime.

I was stationed in England at the time and I must admit I didn't think it was as bad as it was. I thought it along the line of the Three Mile incident. I seem to remember it was big news in England and then it petered out. After watching the series I went immediately into a rabbit hole to find out as much as I could about it. The world would be so much worse if they failed to stop the catastrophy that was happening. Unfortunately, I think that disaster has hindered construction of nuclear power plants worldwide.

They did a great job on the miniseries and if you can find it.. I think HBO they’re was a documentary on there around the same time. Very interesting stuff and seeing actual footage of what happened to the firemen was so graphically disturbing and sad. Like you I was very intrigued with this story and also dove into that rabbit hole.

‘Chernobyl: The lost tapes’ is the documentary.

Yep, that was one of the things I watched when I went down the rabbit hole. I know there some creative liberties with some of the story, but from what I've seen the HBO series was pretty faithful to source.

I’m starving for content right now. It seems like there’s nothing interesting out right now or the series that I do watch are all in filming hiatus.

It’s gotten so bad I’ve gone back to the Witcher Season 3 which was just as bad as I remembered.

I've been watching the docuseries about Alexander the Great on Netflix. I knew very little about Alexander, other than all the obvious stuff. The series is okay. I feel like there is not much depth to it. But he was clearly an interesting guy. With all characters of long ago, there is a lot no one knows and archeologists will differ on different aspects of his life. There is more speculation than fact. Still, digging up the original site of Alexandria in Egypt is pretty cool.

The tourist on netflix.
Guy wakes up in hospital in Australia with amnesia.
Six episode series.

Parts of it are ok, the ending is questionable...one of those types where some might like it and others will hate it.

My wife started watching it. So far she is enjoying it.

I loved that series as well. Very well done. I was just a small kid when it happened, so I don't remember it in real time, but growing up I had obviously heard/read about it. All that time I was the same as you in not thinking it was as bad as it was, but wow, that series really hit home on how much worse of a disaster that could have been. Such a tragic moment in life, but there were some real heroes that put their life (or gave up their life) on the line to make sure it didn't get more out of hand.

Colin from Accounts on Paramount+. An Australian comedy. pretty funny. Liked it a lot and just got picked up for a second season.

Just finished 'Griselda' on Netflix. Sofia Vergara really does a great job. Not sure how true the story they stayed, but Griselda Blanco was definitely out of her mind. 6 episode limited series. Worth a watch.

Had not heard of it but a show on HBO/Max or just Max now....Tokyo Vice
Never heard of it but was advertising the new season of it so went and binged the first season. Not bad.

American living in Japan and starts working for a Japanese Paper and gets involved with a story concerning tokyo police and rival yakuza clans.

Not bad. Has its quirks but still not bad. However it is one of those series where it seems like the amount of smoking is over the top but maybe that was planned as part of japanese yakuza culture or something. Just stands out a tad.

As others have stated. The new True Detective: Night Country has been pretty good so far.

I think some of the supernatural stuff will be explained away with the micro organisms making the group go crazy and the leader being a manson type cult leader. I think a little of the supernatural stuff will remain with the one older lady who actually sees dead people and the one cops sister having the same type of thing.

I will say I hope they slow down with the old people making whoopie scenes as they are a tad disturbing lol.

I can’t believe they made a whole series about the life and times of Alexander Wright.

Been meaning to watch it for a long time too, especially after learning The Last Of Us director/writer also created that mini-series.

Saw first 2 episodes and enjoyed them, but for whatever reason, busy at time and never got back. Been meaning to pick it backup. Reminds me of some of those underrated movies from the early 90’s like Rising Sun with Connery/Snipe or Black Rain with Mike Douglas.

House of Ninjas on Netflix. Yikes just the beginning was a banger. What a ride this will be.
