***Official Streaming Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and other streaming sites thread***

Saw Dave Chapelle's new stand-up. Got Netflix back just for it. Hilarious as always. In the opener, he says he made the surprise special because he was pissed at people who gave him a hard time for going to Saudi Arabia, and he unleashes. Seems like his thing these days is just pointing out hypocrisy from all sides, and becomes more of a storyteller at points. Anyways, no drop-off here. Last Chris Rock and Bill Burrs weren't as funny as previous ones, but Chapelle still managing to bring it.

Marvel Zombies (Disney Plus)

2 episodes in, and I'm really enjoying it. Much like GoT, nobody's safe from being killed off.

Going through Walking Dead series again. I think I only made it to Season 3 last time. With 10+ seasons and a million spin-offs, I'm determined to get something out of this. Although having watched it last time pre-pandemic, I don't think I realized how impossible their contagion concept is. Get bit or scraped by a Zombie, you're toast. But it's fine to blow their brains out and have it scattered all over you including your face and mouth and nose, to fight them with a melee weapon with open wounds, or walk around for a week with zombie guts on your clothes.

Mixed feelings on this.
So many basic cliches....
Good vs bad
Rich vs Poor
One wants what they other has
Romeo Juliet style love interest between rival families.

No season two has been confirmed yet. However they left it open at the end for a sequel.

Overall...even with it's obvious issues...I liked it, not that many western shows anymore so it has that going for it. But make no mistake, this is no Deadwood.

Fallout Season 2 Episode 1.

If you played Fallout 3, Fallout 3 Vegas and 4, you will recognize a lot more in this season, especially in the preview of upcoming episodes.

It's hilarious what they've done to lampoon corporate culture and Vault-Tec. Great scene with the girl's father.
I absolutely loved the first season. Far more than I expected, especially given how often video game adaptations miss the mark most of the time (though there are definitely some outliers). I’m really excited for season 2, but I’m going to try to be patient and let a few episodes stack up. lol

A lot of comedians took heat for performing, especially Pete Davidson, since his dad was a New York City firefighter who died in the 9/11 attacks (15 of the 19 hijackers were Saudi citizens).

Most of the criticism focused on the contracts, which required comedians to avoid certain topics, effectively limiting what they could joke about. Sounds like the Saudis threw ridiculous money at the lineup, but a few comics refused anyway. Shane Gillis publicly turned it down, which I respect. I haven’t seen Chappelle’s new special yet, but I’m curious to see how he defends it. Make no mistake though, he’s one of my favorites. Killing Them Softly is my all-time favorite standup.

Loved the first episode of Pluribus, but each episode is worse than the previous one.

I just finished Moon Haven on Netflix. This was an AMC series and the special effects give that away. They are not the best. This is a sci-fi thriller about a "haven" on the moon that is basically controlled by AI, which is called IO. When I say controlled, I mean the environment is controlled. The people in the colony are free so there is no malevolent AI looking to take control of the world or anything like that.

It's all pretty dumb. Nothing actually makes sense if you think about it for a couple of minutes. The last episode of season 1 is a cliffhanger. I tell you this because season 2 was cancelled. Now you know before you get too interested in the story. Supposedly season 2 was cancelled in a cost cutting move, but the cheap graphics and effects tell me this show did not cost very much to begin with. My guess is it was cancelled because it was too dumb even for AMC.

It's only a 6 episode season, and I watched them all so you don't have to. I think they tried hard to make something like The Expanse on Prime, only a much cheaper production than that. The Expanse was brilliant. Moon Haven was dumb. Did I mention it was dumb?

They needed to cut costs, so grandma could get a hip replacement.

Thanks for the tip on Deadwood.

Shane Gillis is probably the only guy too who has the credentials to speak about it considering he was the victim of a cc backlash that cost him a job at SNL. I watched the interview/skit that was allegedly so bad, and it was all blown out of proportion. Dude got shafted.

You'll love it if you're already a Chapelle fan. He references his older Netflix shows, and he jokes "btw, the tranny jokes went over very well in Saudi Arabia...." :lmao::lmao:

Speaking of Chapelle, as the Diggs Brothers started getting in trouble this week, I never realized they grew up in DC. Started thinking, ohhhhh, that explains where all the arrested development came from. Made me think of that classic stand-up Dave Chapelle did on how bad the DC ghettoes were with babies on the street corners at 3AM, and his whole skit about being afraid in his limo and buying weed from the baby.

Just saw Episode 2 yesterday for the second season of Fallout, and it's even better!! I know I'm prejudiced on this because I've always loved the Fallout games, and they're bringing a lot of the best game content into Season 2, but the storyline is already off to a great start. And still has that great black comedy blend. The ghoul cowboy and okie-dokie fallout girl are classic together!

Everybody now up-to-date with the Mayor of Kingstown? It took me until its 4th season to finally give it a shot, and binged watched in about 2 weeks. Last I remember, Renner was in his role of Hawkeye with Josh Allen's wife, lol.

Never played the game.
Walton Goggins playing the Ghoul is the best part of the series IMO.

Stranger Things finished up. No spoilers. I wasn't a fan of the last season, but the finale was OK. A little milk toast for me, but it wasn't bad. It's sad when a TV show continues on for too long, like a washed up boxer trying to collect another pay day before getting brain damage.

I saw a clip of Chapelle providing his rationale which was basically a “what aboutism” regarding what’s going on in Gaza.

Really surprised Bill Burr participated; thought he was more principled. Shocked to hear about Pete Davidson.

All this basically tells you is people can be money-whipped into doing anything.

His new special does not reach the heights of some of his previous work imo, but as always he did have a few great truths. His future Code word was pretty funny.

I am only two episodes in and already I am struggling to continue watching. Such a dumb show with an overload of cliche techniques to try to bring some suspense. I am so over the scenes where the camera focuses on the actors who try to looked shocked at what they are seeing, but the camera deliberately pauses on their faces rather than show you what they are looking at to add to the suspense. For the love of all that is holy turn the camera towards what they are seeing so we can all see why they are so shocked! ST uses this technique a lot - too much in my opinion. Nothing that happens 5 seasons into this borefest is shocking - other than the fact all these adults are still in high school.
