***Official Streaming Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and other streaming sites thread***

Stranger Things finished up. No spoilers. I wasn't a fan of the last season, but the finale was OK. A little milk toast for me, but it wasn't bad. It's sad when a TV show continues on for too long, like a washed up boxer trying to collect another pay day before getting brain damage.
I think I made it to a few episodes in Season 3. Yeah, even then it felt like they were making the story on the go. I think it pulled me in at first too because it was nice seeing some retro old school Steven Spielberg ET-esque settings.

I appreciate these shows that end in one season or two and have a good idea of beginning and end of the story.

Not a TV marketing guru, but I know the extended seasons was the name of the game for syndication revenue, but I wonder how that model works now with so many different platforms.

His new special does not reach the heights of some of his previous work imo, but as always he did have a few great truths. His future Code word was pretty funny.
I didn't feel like this one was weak, even in the long ending which I thought he did a great job not losing anyone. He was very aware too that it could happen and kept making jokes about it. That requires skill to be a storyteller and keep the audience hooked.

The only Chapelle Shows that I felt were weak were some of those throw-ins on his multi-deals with Netflix. When they were paying him for 3-4 specials, there always seemed to be one that just thrown in randomly because he ran out of content.

He is a great storyteller no doubt.

Shane Gillis is probably the only guy too who has the credentials to speak about it considering he was the victim of a cc backlash that cost him a job at SNL. I watched the interview/skit that was allegedly so bad, and it was all blown out of proportion. Dude got shafted.

You'll love it if you're already a Chapelle fan. He references his older Netflix shows, and he jokes "btw, the tranny jokes went over very well in Saudi Arabia...." :lmao::lmao:

Speaking of Chapelle, as the Diggs Brothers started getting in trouble this week, I never realized they grew up in DC. Started thinking, ohhhhh, that explains where all the arrested development came from. Made me think of that classic stand-up Dave Chapelle did on how bad the DC ghettoes were with babies on the street corners at 3AM, and his whole skit about being afraid in his limo and buying weed from the baby.
Talking about crackheads coming up looking in his limo window like it's Jurassic Park. :lmao: Absolutely legendary stand-up set.

You think him using a mocking Asian accent and saying “Let the f------ ch---- live there” was overblown? Keep in mind, SNL at the time was also bringing on an Asian cast mate along w/Gillis.

The Pitt Season 2 started Thursday.

The only other medical/doctor show I watched was Mash and that is stretching it.

Point is I am not into medical shows. The Pitt first season was pretty good.

Beast Games season two is out on Prime. I only know this because I was scrolling for something to watch :muttley:
I did not know the second season was starting until this one popped up in my quere

It is a one and done episode

Got Netflix back and have been binging their offerings. Finished watching all 3 seasons of Squid Games. Reminds me a lot of Hunger Games but didn't go downhill as much in the final season as that movie franchise did in its final entries. Sometimes these death game movies maybe don't need a sequel? Thoughts Hollywood?

I have enjoyed listening and watching in the background what I call Netflix documentary pr0n. They have this series hosted by the voice of Tyrion in Game of Thrones. That must be the only thing they have to spend money on too, because besides a few 'expert' interviews they mostly show old clips and cartoons. But they have a series called "How to be a Dictator" or "How to be a Cult Leader" or "How to be a Mob Boss" that are just flat-out fun to watch. Also similar with their Trainwreck series which is about random manmade disasters in recent history. Watched the one on the Astroworld concert and the many deaths and hospitalizations from a concert with poor crowd control and had me hooked. They have one on the cruise liner that lost all power with everyone stranded onboard and other freak manmade incidents that people went through.

Next on the agenda, the Samurai series that @BrAinPaiNt was pimping. And maybe one day I will catch up on Wednesday. Mainly because I'm such a fan of the two movies which I feel are underrated comedy greats.

Wednesday is better than I thought. It is for young people but some of us old codgers can like it as well.

Speaking of Hunger Games. If you can find it, Look up Battle Royale. It is a japanese movie from a few years ago that I believe hunger games ripped off and it is a tad more brutal. That's if you like Asian movies.

"Inspired" is the word they use rather than ripped off. lol But yeah the Battle Royale (1999) book came out ten years prior to the hunger games.

We started watching Mad Men. It’s ok. 4 seasons in, and it has barely kept me interested in watching it.
Yeah, it was an interesting show in that it wasn’t particularly exciting, yet there was something about it that kept the wife and I watching until the end.

Wednesday is a fun watch. Jenna Ortega is perfect for the role.

Just watched F1.

Was not expecting it to be so formulaic and corny. Still entertaining but was expecting something a little less predictable.
You probably have already seen them but you might like...

Ford Vs Ferrari
Gran Turismo

Fallout is crushing it. Walton Goggins is a literal "ghoulishly" amazing actor. And as someone who's spent so, so sooo many hours on the games...I just love it. So many Easter eggs.

Watched episode 5 (season 2) on a flight to Vancouver today. I was straight up thinking how Goggins should win an award for his performance.

Star Trek Starfleet Academy started thursday.
Two Episodes to start off the season.

The new Game of thrones A Knight of the seven Kingdoms starts this Sunday
