Houston they have a really good defense and good running game and a very good coach and their division is really weak
You had me until you said "a very good coach". O'Brien is an idiot and most people in Houston want him fired. 3 straight 9-7 seasons and can't find a QB to save his life. Not to mention he plays in one of the worst conference's in the NFL. I think Tony would make them an instant contender. But man, I would hate it on a personal level, I love me some Romo but not on the Texans.

No FO trades anything for an aging, fragile QB with a bloated contract and a history of losing the big games. He will get released and maybe signs as a 1 yr insurance policy with a club with a shot at the SB. He may just end up retiring a Cowboy as he should. There is no big money or great deals in Tony's future.

My guess is that Tony is released and is able to pick his own team. But if I was a gambling man, I would bet the house you are very very wrong about what Tony would bring in a trade. A team like Jacksonville would very likely give up multiple picks, 2nd and 3rds for Tony. Just don't think Jerry will listen to offers from bottom Dwellers.

I agree about the defense.
But I don't see people saying Romo only wants the money. I don't think hardly anyone thinks that.
That for sure is not one of his main criteria.

His issue already is that he's strong on loyalty. He was just saying a couple of years ago how odd and superficial it would feel if he went somewhere as a rent-a-QB and won a title, then moved back here where he hopes to make his long term home and raise his kids.

He may feel differently now though. Don't know.

the man is being kicked out of town for getting injured ( I understand why they would move on though) if anything, Romo will come back with a vengeance... The more I think about it, it is better for him if he just leaves. Jones will never give him the defense he needs and Garrett will keep on being Garrett. Romo (or Dak) will not win a Superbowl with this defense. last night showed us exactly that. if he goes to a team like Houston, that will be the best chance he has ever had . Romo has not once in his career had the luxury of having a top 3 defense. If he signs with a team with an elite defense, he has better chance than Dak of winning a superbowl. this may be a blessing in disguise for Romo as we all know next year this same D will be our downfall when we play a "Good" QB again. either way, we as fans can't blame the guy ..he is being run out of town.

Starting in Dallas :)

That being said if he ends up in Houston, they automatically bolt to the top contender for SB in that conference..

NO doubt about that. By all accounts he is hyper competitive. Always looking to compete at something. So yes, if he can't lead the Cowboys to a title, he would want to beat his friends more than any other team, I'm sure...especially given how things went down.

I'm sure a few of his favorite scenarios in order are
  • Start on a Super Bowl Cowboys team
  • Start on a Super Bowl other team
  • Start on a lesser team
  • Ride the bench in Dallas
And other scenarios in between...

IF that is all you can get for him then you are better off cutting him post june 1st or just keeping him.

I still see him being a June 1st cut. I hope, for our sake, a trade partner can be found, but I'll believe it when I see it.

yeah, I'm not giving away a top 10 qb for nothing, at least wait til training camp and see if someones starter gets hurt like Bridgewater this year

Yea, we have seen that movie for 10 years and they just did a remake with all new special effects and guess what happened?

Different cast of characters but the same ending................sometimes newer is not necessarily better, be it movies or starting QBs.
Father Time has caught up with Romo. If he were 5-10 years younger we wouldn't be having this discussion. Once again how many years has Romo started for Dallas? And we're going to compare a 10 year starters playoff record, to a first year rookies first playoff appearance ever. Romo sat on the bench 3 years before he ever started in the NFL. Tell you what if in 5-10 ten years Dak only has 2 playoff wins, then you can say you have seen this before.

It's not for nothing. June 1st cut, plus the dead money being spread out over two years, gives sizable cap relief for next season.

Correct me if I'm wrong but a trade doesn't remove a lot from the books if at all. A post June 1st cut could be spread over two years though helping a lot

4th or 5th seems right. 36 years old. Hasn't completed a full season in a long time. Those people expecting a 1st or 2nd are dreaming.
