OK-- Time To Clear Your Conscience...

I thought Henson was the real deal.

I thought I was sober.

I thought AB was the next great Dallas WR.

I thought Newman and Ross werer the next great Dallas CB tamdem.

Basocally, I got my heart broken.

:hammer:

Tony Mandrich over Troy Aikman. THERE YOU MADE ME SAY IT! HAPPY NOW!:abuseme:

I thought that these guys were gonna shine on our team:

1) Quentin Coryatt
2) Carl Pickens
3) Anthony Miller

I had an inclination (a well documented inclination I might add) that Dallas would get a supporting cast together on offense before they'd turn over the reigns to an untested QB.....

Oops....wrong thread.

If you post on this board with any regularity you're bound to have one of your opinions blow-up on you concerning the Cowboys...

It's time to come clean and cleanse your soul! :)

Give us one instance of when you were wrong. I say just one because some folks like Hos would have to leave a post that would rival the length of "War & Peace". :D

I'll start things off...

I was way, way off on Rob Petitti. I thought the guy would be THE starting right tackle for several seasons. Even after the struggles of his rookie year I "bought" the company line that he was greatly improved, that his weight was down, that he had the grace of "Fred Astaire"... blah, blah, blah.

Boy did that blow up in my face.

I've confessed... now it's your turn--
I thought TO would skip training camp with some phantom injury and would have a total meltdown at Bledsoe on the sidelines but Bill was smart enough to bench the statue. So I guess I was half wrong. :D

Henson............I did not want to sign him but I was converted and became a huge supporter. Man did I flop on that one!!!!....My only mistake in 50 years. :D

I thought Parcells knew something about the NFL. I was dead wrong on that. :banghead:

I thought Hutchinson was going to be the man. I had already learned my lesson when Henson showed up.

Oh, alright, I'll admit it, I've been disappointed in a lot of players whom I thought would make it and then fell short.
AB and Ross
Rogers and Peterman
Leon Lett
LaFleur
Jerry Jones players selections
Rob Petitti
Etc., etc.
It didn't hurt much, though. :)

I thought Quincy was gonna be our starting QB for a couple years...and do a decent job at it. I should've known better when he overthrew Bryant in that Giants game, when AB was wide open (the CB had fallen) and a TD would've won the game

Also, Hambrick...I thought he would work out, but I was pretty young at that point and didn't really know much

I used to demand that Troy Hambrick get more carries.

This thread is very humbling.

I thought Dallas would regret giving up on Antonio Bryant. I really believed he was going to turn into a premiere receiver once he left Dallas. How wrong was I?! He is unemployed after the 49ers gave up on him! The 49ers!

I would add I thought the same about Derek Ross.

That felt good. I feel like I just ended a session with Dr. Melfi.

When we picked up Marcellus Wiley I was very excited and thought he would make a strong impact on the Dline.

WRONG.

I thought Joey Galloway would make our offense unstoppable. He and Ismail and Aikman would become the next Warner/Bruce/Holt.

I also thought that Chad Hutchinson would develop into a top notch QB....and Henson.

I was also high on Antonio Anderson....anyone remember him?

Here's another painful one for me...

I though Paul Hackett was going to turn around the slowly sinking Cowboy offense in 1986 by implementing Bill Walsh's offense-- and then possibly become the Cowboys next coach after the retirement of Tom Landry-- OUCH!

Thought trading Herschel Walker was a mistake

Thought the 'boys were one year away when they won the '92-93 superbowl

Thought the Irvin, Ismail, Galloway trio could've really done some damage. Never got a chance to really see it.

Thought Antonio Bryant was really gonna rep #88 like the other premier 'boys receivers.

Thought Wiley could've done some damage. He did, for the other team.

Thought Woody would recover. :(

I was wrong on Quincy Carter twice: when we drafted him I thought he was going to be the worst quarterback of all time - he turned out to be an okay QB.

When he turned into an okay QB I thought maybe he could grow into a good QB. Well, we all know what happened there...

also I thought the Cowboys should've done whatever it took to trade up to get Mike Williams. He was a can't-miss WR, kinda like David Terrell and Charles Rogers.
