The Cowboys released Oliver Hoyte, who spent the last two seasons as the primary fullback. Hoyte missed six games in 2007 with a neck injury he sustained in Week Two against Miami. Hoyte, a linebacker in college, made the Cowboys roster as a special teams player in 2006 and was switched to fullback, where he started four games as a rookie. Hoyte started eight games last season at the position. The Cowboys now have just Deon Anderson and Ronnie Cruz as the only fullbacks on the roster.

Right. Because being released from this organization means the player is no good. How'd releasing Aaron Glenn work out for us? Oh, no problem. Jacques Reeves can fill in juuuuuuuuuuuust fine.

it means he wasn't as good of a blocker as you exaggerated him to be

and Deon Anderson took his job

And I'm sure you think Jacques Reeves > Aaron Glenn.

It could just mean that the organization prefers the way Anderson fits into the offense better (as a receiving threat) for our offense. Doesn't necessarily mean he isn't a good blocker.

If you add some smilies to your post it might be more effective.

no, I think Deon Anderson showed more in 6 games than Hoyte showed in over a year

the Reeves/Glenn is totally different since they made that decision based on evaluating practices, and age, Hoyte is gone because his only skill didn't set the world on fire

not saying Hoyte wasn't a good blocker, just he wasn't great at it, certainly not good enough to be worth keeping around because that's all he can do

you don't remember Hoyte>>>>Anderson?
