And you’re OK with that?

Nothing, nothing, and nothing. That’s great.

And clearly you check your brain at the door and blindly accept whatever they tell you as ‘great’.
Any “sane” person would trust how the Cowboys draft over whatever guy you wanted them to draft. I mean unless you really are a scout and do it well enough to be getting paid for it.

I don’t blindly accept anything. But I do accept the fact that for some strange reason you think there were any “sure thing” T-Fred type OG’s in this draft that should’ve been taken in the first round. There sure as hell weren’t any available after that.

We must have guys on the roster who can play. I have no idea.

I think it’s of MAJOR concern.

We lack depth and we’re banking on Tyron’s Smiths health again.

I am in at 7. First, even if Tyron Smith stays healthy for the entire year, I did not like how Tyler looked at LG when he got in there for some plays last year. Maybe with an offseason to work more at the position he will improve but to me, I want him a LT. Because I am concerned about Tyron at LT. Tyron is not a very good run blocker anymore. He has lost lateral quickness and struggles to keep quicker edge rushers in front of him. He is not the great LT he used to be before the injuries started piling up. At the same time, we all feel that he will miss games again this year like he does every year lately.

My concern at LG right now is really based on not knowing how much Farniok will improve or how Edoga will play at the position. I don't think Ball can move inside unless he gets bulkier and much stronger. Ball facing Fletcher Cox, Leonard Williams and Jonathan Allen scare the devil out of me.

I think Edoga is just as good (or bad if you prefer) as McGovern.

I’m curious as to why you think that?
So while I wanted to be better than McGovern, I think our floor is similar to last years OL and our ceiling is very good until Tyron goes down. If Tyron is back for the playoffs like last year and we are able to play our best 5 we are very good. I also expect us to sign another OL to fight for the first chance to replace Tyron when he goes down now that we didn't go there early in the draft. Time will tell
That leads me to believe that the team has great faith in Matt Waletsko possibly playing left tackle.

Because when Tyron goes down again, do they want to shuffle two positions or just one?

After what we've witnessed over the last way too many years, you can just change "sane" to "insane".

If Tyler is playing LG it would be zero. Depending on who else is it might be, have to let you know.

Tyler smith will be dominant at LG.

The problem is if/when Tyron gets hurt. You’re leaving a hole at LG once you move Tyler over.

Looking back on his scouting report, Edoga appears to have starter quality traits, but simply cannot stay on the field. Injuries have dogged him since he came in, 2019. Have no idea why anyone would think he would suddenly find his health. Extremely rare when it does happen.

If we're depending on him, we're in trouble.

Would have said 0 if it was an option simply because games don’t start tomorrow. Ask again in September.

I'm more concerned that it's been cold and rainy this entire week and weekend and my honeybees can't take advantage of the black locust bloom!

Based on what the OL coach said yesterday, Tyler is focusing on LT to start the season. The starting LG will be someone else. I'm guessing if their initial plans at LG completely implode, they can play Tyler at LG(assuming Tyron and Steele are healthy at OTs)

My biggest fear with him is his well-documented lack of strength and anchor. It’s one thing to have those issues as a backup tackle. But moving inside only makes a bad situation worse.

Nope. Farniok and Edoga will be backups at Guard. I'm sure the Cowboys will sign some UDFAs to their Practice Squad as well.

If this is true about when the season starts, I have a feeling Farniok will start at Left Guard. Tyron Smith will start at Right Tackle, and Terence Steele will be given more time to fully heal from his torn knee ligament.
