Got anything to add so we can discuss or would you like to stay confused as always ?

Their play since both have been in the league is comparable. I think people were high on McGoVern at points partly because they just didn’t want Connor Williams. But other than some decent play in spurts and also as a FB he hasn’t been very good overall. He was hurt last year, but Edoga was on some pretty crappy Jets OLs and while he certainly was part of the issue he didn’t play in a spot like McGovern did here with good talent around him. Edoga was a pretty good run blocker with the Jets and not a great pass blocker as an OT. I think his pass protecting inside if he plays LG will be protected a little here on a better overall OL just like McGovern was. I don’t think either is anything more than below average and really more of a backup with emergency starting talent, so I’m not saying I think Edoga is good by any means. Just that he is comparable to McGovern who I was glad to see leave and the team apparently made little effort to retain.I’m curious as to why you think that?
That leads me to believe that the team has great faith in Matt Waletsko possibly playing left tackle.
Because when Tyron goes down again, do they want to shuffle two positions or just one?
I’m a bit concerned about it if Tyron misses significant time. Farniok is fine in spot duty.Nope. Farniok and Edoga will be backups at Guard. I'm sure the Cowboys will sign some UDFAs to their Practice Squad as well.

it’s not clear how we will line up week 1. If Tyler isn’t the week 1 LT he absolutely will be when Tyron goes down. And as we sit here today Edoga is a better option at OT than Waletzko IMO. Hopefully Now that he is healthy Waletzko shows out and becomes a player but he hasn’t shown anything yet - due at least in part to injury of course.
Ball likely won’t make the rosterPut me down at a 7. And my reasons for that are two-fold.
First, I have no faith in any lineup suggesting Chuma Edoga or Ball in that spot. Neither has the adequate power or anchor to hold up inside.
Second, if the plan is to play Tyler Smith there, we’re rolling the dice on Tyron Smith holding up at left tackle. That’s a losing bet.
Tyler is gonna be the starting LG, it won’t last long because Tyrone is very unlikely to play 17 games10 because this team is dumb and refuses to put tyler smith back inside
Yesterday during the draft show when the o line coach interviewed he did say they only view tyler smith as a tackle. Which is crazy because he will be such a better guard right now then tackleTyler is gonna be the starting LG, it won’t last long because Tyrone is very unlikely to play 17 games
His issue, going back to his college days, is durability. Doubtful that this issue will stop being an issue. If Tyron were healthy, I'd have no concerns.
Since he rarely is, I am concerned.
That being said Edoga, after some research, isn't a bad option. He's been up and down but his highs aren't bad at all.
I disagree. It says the Bills liked McGovern enough to give him what could be a 1 year $9.9M contract, We don't know what the rest of the NFL felt and we do know the Cowboys made little attempt to keep a guy that they had here the past few years. Just like the year before with Williams they moved on without much of an attempt to retain them and in this case with no one in particular waiting in the wings to take over. Like I said, I'm glad he is gone and don't think we will miss him.The fact that McGovern was quickly snatched away with a multi-year contract for very good money, while Edoga signed for peanuts says that the NFL views the players very differently.
Ball likely won’t make the roster
Chuma has played guard in the nfl and should be as goid or close to what MCGovern was
And do you?I personally wanted to get a starter quality LG
Fix the position with solid talent and cheap
But they plan on Tyler being the starter and Chums backup. That would be a sound plan if you had reason to believe our LT could possibly play 17 games
He can be a tackle and since LT is so much harder to get that’s where his future is. Guards are easy to draft, LT aren’t. Now I too think at LG he’d be a monster but if he can be a good LT that’s better value. But as long as Tyrone is healthy he’s gonna be a guardYesterday during the draft show when the o line coach interviewed he did say they only view tyler smith as a tackle. Which is crazy because he will be such a better guard right now then tackle
So you feel that your opinion is stronger than what happens in the real world.I disagree. A sound plan never includes a player who can't stay on the field. Ever.I see people claiming this but there is very little evidence to support it.
And do you?
Tyler wasnt a good player in pass protection last year. Had some of the worst win rates at the tackle position in pass pro.He can be a tackle and since LT is so much harder to get that’s where his future is. Guards are easy to draft, LT aren’t. Now I too think at LG he’d be a monster but if he can be a good LT that’s better value. But as long as Tyrone is healthy he’s gonna be a guard
So dramatic you are.So you feel that your opinion is stronger than what happens in the real world.
