On Cowboys Break Nick Eatman made interesting comment

Kicking the 56 yard FG was a decision he took bc he thought it gave him the best chance to win? And he made that decision bc he's going to get fired if he loses? Lolol. How else is he supposed to coach that situation? Coach to lose?

Exactly. It's like saying that if they didn't go for the FG there, that that would mean Garrett wasn't trying as hard to win?

any coach that isnt trying to win now shouldnt be coach

This division is the worse in the NFL.

If they don't make the playoffs he deserves to be fired.

Nick is full of ****, the Beard has been starting all year. He is just trying to win, which is the entire point of his job, even if it is on the line this year. Which it should be BTW, the East is so bad this year not winning it would be a disgrace.

I am surprised Jerry is letting him bench these high draft picks because of his big fat ego.........Jerry usually tries to push "his guys" on to the field through the media

For the umpteenth time. If they miss the playoffs 4 years in a row Jerry cant trot Garret and others out there again next year. Cant happen period.

Eatman is really dumb. Maybe dumber than Calvin Watkins and almost as dumb as JJT.

In the Blue-White scrimmage during training camp, he thought that #35 was Keon Lattimore. Lattimore has not been with the team in several years. Eatman also called out several other players that were no longer with the Cowboys. Apparently, he had a roster from 2009 and was not smart enough to recognize that it was not the current roster. How does that happen? A guy that works for the team can't recognize the difference between a 2009 roster and the 2013 roster.

It can, actually. It depends on the circumstances, but the team really does like what Jason is doing. I'm not sure he's going to determine that the head coach is necessarily the problem. Especially if the team is obviously deficient in a specific area--eg, pass defense--yet another season.

Trying to win games, what a novel idea! No wonder we haven 't won a playoff game in 18 years, all along we've been trying to develop players instead of winning. And doing a really crappy job of developing those players.

BTW, if Garrett was truelly trying to win games, he would attack defenses and not play with a lack of urgency game after game.

Somebody will have to take the fall and I will give you three guesses on who it wont be. Besides three years is all you get in a win now league, Garret will have had 3 and half. His wont be the only head to roll if no playoffs espescially in this weak division. What he is not doing is winning enough and that is all that matters.

Parcells came and left without winning anything.
Phillips cane and left without winning anything.
Garrett has yet to win anything.

These are not dumb guys. You can hate them all you want, but they are intelligent guys who failed in Dallas.

Replacing head coaches every few years is a sure sign of continued failure. If Garrett is gone next year, I'm sure we are moving onto another head coach... for a few years before we find his replacement.
And yet one constant remains

I will believe Jason has grown a pair when he benches Romo or Witten. Benching defensive starters is a cop out.

I was watching the pod cast on the website and Nick Eatman said basically that Garrett may be changing players out and sitting high draft picks because he basically has bee told that if he does not make the playoffs he is gone. So instead of developing young players that might be struggling, Garrett is mainly concerned with just wins at this point since this might be his last season in Dallas.

You guys buy this? That Garrett is making these personnel changes and sitting high draft picks in order to "win now"? That might explain the decision to kick the 56 yard field goal, to get as much points as possible since winning games is the only thing he is thinking about right now. I could understand this train of thought, if I was told to make the playoffs or clean out my desk, I would not really care about grooming high draft picks that are struggling either. I am going to put the best players on the field that I have because I am not going to be around the following year to see how well those young draft picks developed if I dont make the playoffs.

I dont know if I buy this or not............................what do you guys think.

Think we need to beat the Broncos:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

We'll see how the year turns out yet, first. I think the Cowboys are in pretty good shape in the East. That said, I'm not sure somebody has to take a fall. I agree, it'd be Garrett's turn to do so, but if the organization likes him as much as I think they appear to, they could survive another offseason without the playoffs.

If they turn out to play well, however, there are going to be a lot of naysayers pretending that's direction things were headed all along. That's just the way it works.

A pair of what? Brain tumors? Benching starters on either side of the ball is not to be taken lightly. Garrett's done a nice job of walking the walk when it comes to earning playing time his whole time here. It's just been difficult to do at some positions because we've either lacked depth or had a series of sustained injuries. But from the minute he cut Gurode in favor of Costa, we should have known he meant business on that score.

I wish last year was Garrett's last year.
