Personally, I think a bounty on criminal lawyers (wonderful how those two words go together) would be a great idea. Of course I would also put used car salesmen and politicians (the other professional liars) on that list as well.

peppy, baby, I consider lawyers to be just a slight step down from dog crap.

As regards Goodell and what he has done: love it. The real turds of the league are getting whats coming to them. I also really love it that that torques you off. Just an added bonus.

And the second paragraph here? BINGO! If that is what you think....that is your's and the NFL's lawyers job, right?

Get it...see the picture now?
The NFL counsel's jobs are to look out for the NFL... I'm not looking out for the NFL. I think Goodell has too much power. The NFL attorneys did a good job apparently. But that doesn't mean he should have that much power.

Surprising. Goodell's next course of action is to suspend Rex Grossman for conduct detrimental to the league. His QB play is so offensive (in a bad way) that Goodell can't take it anymore.

In a related story, Burm (aka Goodell's mouthpiece) is behind the commissioner's actions 200%.

So the attorneys are the ones that were wrong by allowing Goodell to do what they advise him to do?

Now I get it! :bang2:

:laugh2: You know what I think Goodell does? Probably rolls over in the morning, farts, and thinks...""Hmmm...what player should I go get now"

Ok, those who are criticizing Goodell...If you were him, what would you do with the following players? What would be your process of decision making?

Tank Johnson

Pacman Jone

Michael Vick

Or other players who received fine or suspension from Goodell.

Also, the conduct detrimental to the league language was approved by NFLPA (including player reps).

know what's funny about people criticizing Goodell for how much power he now yields, it's that the NFLPA agreed to the new CBA, and the NFLPA is behind Goodell cracking down

big, bad, mean Goodell, how DARE he brainwash all these people into giving him unlimited, evil, power

It says, "for conduct deemed detrimental to the league." Well whoopty freakin do? What is conduct detrimental? And who deems it detrimental? Oh that's right, the Commish gets to decide.

conduct detrimental is anything that sheds a negative image on the league and it's players, it's in the CBA

I think being associated w/ a heinous crime and being indicted by a federal grand jury qualifies, don't you think? esp. when in addition to the other numerous NFL player arrests that have gone on already, the NFL and it's players aren't being looked on too favorably right now

You should try it... it has to be embarrassing for you to have people read this stuff.

Not for me.

Maybe for you Counselor.

I stand by everything I've said.

If I'm pissing the lawyers off, that's got to be a good thing.

If I was Goodell?? Well, I think it's been pretty clear what I would do. I would wait until a court of law pronounced these guys guilty before taking action.

When that happens, then cry about it Counselor.

A far better alternative than letting the criminals ruin the league.

Yeah, you can tell they put a lot of time and effort into it. "Conduct detrimental to the league" is such an exacting standard. So glad they cleared up what that means...

Sure it qualifies. Does Rex Grossman's play qualify? His play is detrimental to the league on most weeks. The general watering down of the QB play in the league is detrimental to the league.

Ah, so let's not do anything about a perceived problem until some harm comes from it. I can see you must be a valuable employee.

However you want to spin it counselor. After all, you're the expert.

No, let's make something up to be mad about instead. Something that isn't close to happening. That makes much more sense. Now I see how lawyers screw up everything they touch.

Maybe not your goal, just the end result if you had your way.
