That was an 8-1 team that he tore apart and yet we still have people saying it's the defense, it's Pollard, it's the Vikings stinking it up.

Sure the defense was near perfect, but the guy responsible for like 10 out of the first 12 relevant 3rd downs was Dak Prescott - essentially giving the defense overall 10 less minutes of work to do. The final stat is Dallas 37 min, Minnesota 23 on time of possession but it's actually closer to 40-20 if we didn't let up a bit after going up 30-3 and then putting in Cooper Rush. Pollard had more receiving yards than rushing yards and unless you all saw a different game than me, it was Dak dotting that rainbow to Pollard on that 68 yard touchdown.

Just wondering why the goalposts always move on Dak. When the Bills flopped against the Jets and the same Vikings team we thrashed, it's McDermott, it's Frazier, it's the secondary, it's someone else but not Allen. While the Chargers are mediocre once again, it's Brandon Staley but not Herbert. But when the Cowboys lost to the Packers, the thunder came down in a blistering stream of bitterness and the scapegoat is always Dak.
I think the majority of the Fans here realize it was a great game by Dak.
You are never going to be able to please everyone.
My only comment is I would like Dak to be more consistent game to game and I think that's a fair observation.

Okay, Dak is the most elite QB the NFL has ever seen, the most consistent, the winningest, and Dallas is lucky to have him where they should pay him $75M/season for all he does for this team.

Yeah...I say we just beat Dak down with negativity instead of reasonable criticism until hes the perfect QB. Because the movie Whiplash made so much sense.

I thought Kelmo actually called a good game. The only thing I want is for the offense to take a few deep shots to stretch the D a little. The roll out play before half was a thing of beauty. A couple of more plays like that rollout/bootleg with a deep shot is all they need.
Good point. Even if its incomplete....it serves a purpose....and we might catch them cheating once in awile.

Think of it this way...

In the parameters of the offense we are running, he tore them apart. This was an Aikman in the playoffs type of "tore them apart".
Decent comp and hopefully that continues. That style fits Dak's strengths perfectly....except Dak also showed he can still run a bit yesterday too.

I think Ken and AC's crying about anything concerning Dak is what fuels the opposing view point. If they could stop bouncing around on every thread complaining about anything suspect of Dak that would be a start, but oh well they are just as bad as the "haters". They fuel the fire and then stand back and complain about the other guy's posts.
Agreed, but to be fair you have people on both sides of the argument doing the same thing. The extreme views tend to do nothing but develope extreme opposition in others. I've said for a long time now that the thing people hate most about Dak are his fans.

Dak is earning the big bucks and not dominating is always the main tag on him. He is saddled up and we go as he goes IMO. Great Defense or not.

Name one qb not named Mahomes who is dominating right now. The entire league has moved to a pass defense as their base D so everyone is struggling.

Russell Wilson $49mil is 3-6 with 7td/5int and a 59.5% comp. Domination?
Aaron Rodgers $50mil is 4-7 and barely throwing over 200yds/g.
Josh Allen $43mil in his last four games is 2-2 and barely throwing over 200yds/g. And he already has 10 INTs, 8 fumbles and three fumbles lost for the season.
Kyler Murray $46.1mil is 3-6 with only 12td/6int. And he’s taken 24 sacks with 8 fumbles and 2 fumbles lost.
Herbert is 2-3 in his last five with 6tds/5ints during that span.

No one other than PM is playing like an elite qb. And there’s a good chance that Andy Reid is the only OC who knows how to beat these cover 1/2/3s.

Because he consistently is inconsistent. An egg will be laid when it matters

I would have to disagree, literally every other thread last week was a bash Dak thread.

It's the same routine every week. We lose, it's Dak's fault, we win, it's because of the play of everyone else.

Same could be said for MM.
People hate Dak because they keep getting told he is an elite quarterback, but he consistently fails the eyeball check for that classification. Occasionally has great games, But just as occasionally he’s terrible… Add in the fact that he is paid like a top three quarterback and you get frustration among the fan base…

Classic moving the goal posts.

139 qb rating tells me he tore that team apart.

You obviously saw a different game than the rest of the country.
I just used the QB rating calculator at PFR to see what the rating would be for a QB who went 1 for 1, 10yds, 1 td, 0 int. That would give you a rating of 147.92

Last year Cedric Wilson finished the season with a QB rating of 118.7

This post is in no way intended to diminish Dak's very efficient performance yesterday.

The problem with your reasoning is that you dont provide a solution to a problem that the whole league seems to have when it comes to QBs.

GM's dont just wheel and deal their QBs who put up 5 years of good stats recklessly...risking their jobs. You can say Jerry is in a unique situation as Owner/GM to implement a new school of thought or practice when it comes to QBs in the League by not allowing decent QB's to bend Organizations over the barrel contract wise because of Fear, and not paying them unless they produce early. But...then you are opening yourself up to egg all over your face and being the laughing stock of the League if you would have let Dak walk to your Division Rival and he beat you twice a year while going to the Playoffs. Plus...you are relying on hitting on a QB in the draft and hoping you arent setting your team back 3 years and wasting 3 years of your other star players careers.

How come Dak haters and Dak contract haters dont want to talk about this?

There is no solution provided...just unreasonable hate unless you are perfect. QBs get paid in this League...even average ones. Dak's 5 years of stats dont suggest he's a QB you let walk and you turn to a crap shoot in the Draft. But you dont want to talk about that. Or...if you do...its over-confidence in the crap shoot without talking about the high possibility of wasting years of your other stars careers.

Exactly. When these guys call me a "dak hater"...they are losing credibility and their argument. False accusations tend to do that.

These guys have even admitted their crusade, and it hurts our community. They are every bit as bad as the incessant.... critics... they fight with. "Fueling the fire" indeed. I'd go further to say they are the fuel AND the fire. As was mentioned, we will always have malcontents, no matter what. If we just leave them alone they will wallow in insignificance. But...too dumb to understand that very simple concept.

If you say Dak is 6-2 they'd be outraged and come up w/ all sorts of spew to prove that he's 6-2 and 1/16th inch, and Rocky would tell you how bad of a fan you are.

This topic is so MEH. Last week the Dak haters went over board and now this week it’s flipped to the other side. Dak had a great game but then so did Pollard and so did the defense.

Yes, team win. But the defense and the offense feed off each other in good games, sure didn't hurt that on the Vikes first possession Parsons sacked Cousins deep in his own territory, made the first Dallas score easier. Also let's not forget the Vikes lost their LT early in the game, gving the defense a bit easier way to pressure Cousins.

Teams play terribly, poorly, so-so, good and great. This was an instance where both the defense and offense played well in the same game. Be glad, those don't come around that often.

And while I enjoy the win, now we've seen (have seen before, but for the moment put those games aside) that Dak CAN make the precise throw, cAN "throw the receiver open" and CAN change the play at the LOS to a better, successful play.

Question is, why doesn't he do that more often? Certainly not a question of ability, if he doesn't have the ability then he'd never have a game like this. So what is it? Coaching? Game plan?

Its perplexing. And i think the biggest source of malcontent and fighting. He certainly is capable, right. The bad game falloff seems too frequent and too steep.....for some.

I do not think we will ever win the Super Bowl with a $50 million slightly above average quarterback. I do think we could win, with this roster, with a high ceiling young quarterback.

Possibly.

However, therein lies the problem. High ceilinged young QB's mostly go top 5. And the bust rate on trying to find one is outrageous.

I agree with the state of talent, which still leaves the financial situation that does not melt in everyone's mouth. I don't think he is elite, but he is what is nominal at 40million in 2022
