I understand their plan, and it’s solid business, but they also have to compete with other teams that are willing to be aggressive to win now…and that’s who we typically get beat by.

So yeah, we can save our pennies for Lamb and a Dak raise, etc….but relying on everything going right from a particular draft to help you the following season? Doesn’t add up.

But fear not, when the Eagles and Niners enter their next down cycle, we will still be able to get to the division round and lose.

Ok pass rushers are the most important, most valuable players on defense.

The 10th best passrusher in the league is more valuable than any other defensive player.

So yes, if he's one of the best passrushers, he's one of the best players.

I agree with this 10%. Where the Cowboys are drafting it is unlikely they find a DT who will make an immediate contribution his first year. They needed to get someone in free agency, and not just 1 Hankins is good but they could have gotten Dalvin Tomlinson with him. But Jerry is not willing to shell out any money for free agents. Anyone who thought Mazi would come in here this year and make an impact was just fooling themselves. There were big guys in free agency. A'Shawn Robinson is another guy the Cowboys could have made a play for. But it is not going to happen so we are stuck with what Jerry can pull off the scrap heap.

I am a little less critical of the LB situation simply because of injuries. I think LVE definitely makes this defense a little better, although he isn't the thumper they need either. Overshown might have been the playmaker they need on defense at LB.

It kills me because we had Hankins, it seems like they stop there and no need to go after anyone else. They keep forgetting what happens if he goes down, this is the 2nd year in a row he has.

Run defense is a choice. The teams that defend the run well are generally crappy against the pass, and crappy in general. New England, Atlanta, and Chicago have the best run defenses in the league lol.

Ok in some sense your correct but lets be real name me the winning DC's that come into a game thinking "Hey lets just let them run the ball for 10 yards a carry" without adjusting to it...come on this is not logical, sure its a choice and if the game is going that way you make that choice to stop what they are doing..you dont just sit there and bleed all game..

But it was the passing game that killed them in the first half. The bleeding didn't matter because the game was already over.

Biggest problem was Buffalo out weighs our defensive line 365 to 295. Did you see when Clark got hurt? The Olineman was basically un blocked by our Dline and the guy had a free run at Clark to pancake him. Of course teams have a run scheme but it wasn't anything that Dallas hasn't seen before. 49ers use a lot of motion. Bills pretty much lined up and went with what they were gooing to do. Be it slant or straight ahead. Either way Dallas had no answer and will not have any answer for it's not on the team until Hankins comes back to help stop the bleeding. I'll give you a scheme blocking if you want but the scheme didn't beat Dallas. Their players were just bigger-faster and meaner.

I disagree he’s you best at getting off blocks he’s one of your strongest players.. can cover… and can go sideline to sideline.

Maybe the answer is putting him in the middle cause it’s too easy for team to neutralize him in the edge in the run game.

In obvious pass rushing situations you put him in the edge

Good points...Jerry plays chess while everyone else is playing chinese checkers. They so worried about the future-that they lose in the present every season.
