Opinion: The Randle experiment is over

I don't know what the hell yall are talking about. Randle played very well today. Very well.

I'm seriously questioning some of the football IQ of those saying otherwise.

Randle tried really hard and made some losses into gains but he isn't a very good RB.

He would be great as a back-up like last year but he doesn't have power or vision to be our #1. His goal line carry was very underwhelming.

It is the difference between good and great that we need/want at RB.

Even JG thought Randle left some meat on the bone last week. Need to see what CMike can do. We need a strong running game even more now that Romo is down.

Randle just doesn't have enough junk in the trunk or enough wiggle or great vision or speed.

Randle is replaceable by just about anyone. It would be nice to see if CMike can excel behind this line.

Watching the Packers game, Randle reminds me a little of James Starks in terms of value (not in terms of style). Quality NFL player who can start in a pinch, but not a guy you want to trot out there as a 16-game starter -- particularly in a supposed run-heavy offense.

Unless he's putting his cleats on the wrong feet, I would start Michael next week. He HAS to be better than this.

I can't believe the mental gymnastics fans are going thru trying to convince themselves Randle is anything but average.

Yeah. I was riding high on him with faith and belief and he's so far looked okay. Sometimes good.
Let's all be honest. He's not done anything wrong. He's even played a hard hand with the OL giving him much less than what they gave Murray last year so far.
But he's looked pretty average so far.
He fought hard today and I commend both him and Garrett for challenging him breaking arm tackles.
He fought, but there was nothing elite, or anything near it about his performance both today and last week.

I can see this team giving him one more chance at the true load next week (not that I agree with it) before having a Coming To Jesus meeting about the RB situation.

He wouldn't because we know how to use him. Line him up 9 yards back and pick a hole!

What hole? The problem wasn't any of the RBs, but the fact that whatever holes you think an All-Pro RB would have hit weren't there.

All I know is if the running game doesn't improve with Weeden at the helm he'll be having to wing it 40+ times a game and with his history as a starter this season could be lost before Romo ever gets back.

Well.. they just have to tread water and the D, which has performed admirably as of late, will get a boost- before the offense gets their big boost with Dez and Romo.
Now let's get this running game situation hammered out...

The OL played their worst game in well over a season.
But Philly's D should get some credit. They are stout as all getout.

And seeing each other twice a year makes it even tougher. Murray had 4 games without 100 yards last year. 2 of those against the Eagles. Both times under 4 ypc. The run blocking was as bad as I've seen in a while, but it's almost what I expect when going up against that Eagles DL

2 concerns over the off season many had to include myself.

1. What if our running game isnt the same?
2. What if Romo goes down under the extra load he has to carry.

And here we are;

funny thing is though. I get the feeling were going to be just fine.

I think, knowing we are a mentally tough team. Built that way. Made that way. along with knowing all these players are coming back down the stretch(Romo being the most important). And that Defense has improved a great deal. We got a shot. I think we will find a way to deal with the adversity. --- Now were going to drop a few or more.....but I think we can win enough to remain in contention, and hopefully with some luck, get hot down the stretch and make the playoffs.

Agree. I'm about to watch the tape but it really looked like both things were true. Our OL played its worst game in forever but the Eagles DL was stout as well. All things considered I think our RBs did well in this game.

And the funny thing is he spent the day before the Giants game saying Eli Manning was a Hall of Famer. Someone needs to remind him how that game turned out.
