IRVING, Texas – Kyle Orton has done something few players in the NFL get to do: beat the system. The Cowboys cut Orton on July 15 not long after the veteran backup quarterback told the Cowboys he would be coming to training camp. On Friday, Orton agreed to a deal with the Buffalo Bills, according to ESPN’s James Walker. Orton spent most of the offseason hoping to retire, except the Cowboys would have come after $3.4 million in signing-bonus money he received in 2012 and ’13 had he decided to give up the game.

He wanted either a chance to start again or if a backup, he wanted smooth sailing with no camp.

yeah, this is why they should have fined his backside for not showing up and re-couped some of the money that he got...he lost interest in playing for dallas, and quite frankly, dallas lost interest in him....
...good luck sitting in frigid buffalo on sundays holding that clipboard....

He was fined for missing OTAs and then he got cut when they learned he was going to show for TC, there were no other fines they could have levied against him

I think he regretted taking a back-up job after getting to start game 16 last year and wanted one more shot to be "the man".
He should easily surpass Manuel, as he sucks.

At heart, I guess he was always something of a competitor. As to business decisions, he wasn't shy to upping his cash flows to his own advantages.

In Dallas, Jerry is a bit of a stickler now, on loyalty.

very easy, this guy has always been a garbage QB and someone probably called him out on it in the locker room.

This.^ EJ Manuel is awful. Can't understand what the Bills see in him.

this guy doesn't want to start. he doesn't even want to play. he loves holding the clipboard and getting drunk 3-4 days a week.

the problem in dallas was an internal conflict either with the coaches or the players...nobody knows.

you guys are giving him too much credit by saying he wants a chance to start. orton doesn't have the will to be a starter anymore. he's a scrub and loser, F him.

Well, the Bills do have a much better defense. Much less limelight and way less pressure and expectations if you do end up starting too.

Why Orton left is the least of my worries about the Cowboys. Whether he stayed or not makes no difference.
