Jeff Sullivan of DC.Com and the Cowboys' magazine wrote a week or two ago that there were weeks when Orton would be showered, dressed, and gone out of the locker room before some teammates even got off the field last year. Sounds to me like he just didn't like being here. He knew this was Romo's team. So now he goes to E.J Manuel's team......o_O

I've complained twice about the Oklahoma winters to women from Buffalo, NY. (Reminder check background before whining)

Good luck Kyle.

What you are failing to understand is that under those circumstances he would not show up and would retire
If he shows up, it is the job of the HC to make him productive or to let everyone on the team know you are there only to collect a paycheck and don't want to put in the work others are putting in
This is where a culture of a team comes into play
If you have played organized sports at a good level where everyone is giving their all, if there is a bad apple , his life is miserable
The coaches and team leaders should hold him accountable
Would this be tolerated in NE? No way

What are you talking about? He got his money from the Coyboys--he won. Why didn't he retire then?

kyle orton in my humble opinion was reduced to crap when he did what he did. his integrity was brought into question and why any team would sign him now is a bit beyond me
Can you post the truth , then , pls enlighten us stupid foolish fans of the boys , I humbly request !!!!

I wasn't there so I don't know but rant on, the village is watching you.

so what would you have done?

You take the $ pain of disciplining the **** so that you don't get schooled again. Make him show up for practice and let his OL figure out if they really want to put 100% into blocking for a guy that is scamming them. I don't think that there are many teams that have had contract dodgers like Rat and Ort take advantage of them to this magnitude in consecutive years.

What would you have done? Support everything Jerry does regardless of merit.

The only answer is money getting $5 million this year a nice pay raise...

IMO he wanted out because he didn't want to compete for his job.

I think the Cowboys saw that Orton was not the "best back-up" in the league when he was playing against Philly last year and decided that they needed some competition for the back-up QB job. So the Cowboys brought in Weeden and Orton saw the writing on the wall.

IMHO Orton is like a lot of vets and simply didn't want to commit to the year long grind.
So he avoided everything he realistically could but he told the team he'd show up at Camp so they cut him to save money.

Ultimately he is getting a gig without any mini-camps or off-season work.
He is on a one-year deal so he can look for work again next year if he so desires again as camp closes.

TBH, I struggle to care. I have zero feels for the dude either way.
He wasn't good enough to win us week 17 last week so I am mostly glad he isn't wasting any additional cap space.

With people like you, its always the extreme. I wouldn't do it your way, so I offer blind support.

There's a million shades of gray between black n white.

Any support offered for Jerry is blind at this point, right? Or are people like me missing something? Do tell.

The only color tone between black and white that characterizes the ineptitude and frailty of a FO....that was abused by two highly compensated vets .......who left for other teams w/o compensation...... within a year of being restructured - is brownish in nature.

No need. You can't take a different viewpoint as anything but Jones support so any discussion with you is about as pointless as snow cone sales in the arctic

Go back to your initial response and read it again, why all the pretense of high handedness, if you agree you don't know, by the way it seems that you are the one ranting ... I just pointed out the fact, two events one after the other ,in both the team which we both are fond of gets fleeced.

I could explain it but it wouldn't matter. Carry on.

You haven't offered any substantive support for Jerry's stewardship of the team, but we are all ears.

Ready, go.
