DOUBLE WING;3600585 said:You've got to be kidding me. Moss is still a freak - you think guys like Welker, Tate, Gronkowski, etc. are still going to be putting up big numbers when Moss isn't out there commanding double and triple teams? Sure, he hasn't put up big numbers yet this season like we're used to seeing, but the bracket coverage he forces other teams into playing makes New England's entire offense run. You think Wes Welker is a 123 catch, 1,300-yard player without Moss on the other side? Give me a break.
This makes NO sense for the Patriots. Their defense isn't Super Bowl ready, their only chance is to have the offense lead the way and so what do they do, trade Tom Brady's best target for a 2nd or 3rd rounder? Is a year of 33-year-old Brady's prime really worth a 3rd round pick?
MegaMagick;3600652 said:But wow, i can't believe they're giving up moss for a 3rd round pick. New England's arrogance even after being humbled these past few years is amazing.
I see the Belichick era coming to an end soon, the Pats are going to put up a mediocre product on the field these next few seasons if they haven't already.
I doubt it. If McNabb continues to play like one of the wost QBs in the league, he's not going to be there either so who's going to throw to Moss?Joe Realist;3600641 said:Moss goes to Minnesota as a rental and gets one more big payday in 2011 from....... Washington

DOUBLE WING;3600658 said:Um..did you read anything I said in that post? If you're simply looking at the stats as a way of saying it's easy to replace Moss, then you know nothing about the game of football.
dbair1967;3600660 said:Watch him on the field dude. He isnt the player he was anymore, not even remotely close.
And his effort is a joke.
DOUBLE WING;3600613 said:The impact he makes on opposing coverages alone is worth keeping him.

MegaMagick;3600662 said:It was the same way in oakland before he was traded to NE. Even i was saying he was done then.
DOUBLE WING;3600665 said:If you want to watch something, watch the way teams cover the Patriots when Moss is on the field. Watch the double and triple teams Moss STILL commands. Watch the way he opens up the field for people like Welker/Gronkowski/Hernandez to go to work.
He's proven time and again that if he's getting paid, he's happy, and a happy Moss is bad news for the rest of the league. Right now he's unhappy. Yeah, his effort isn't all there, but his effort has always been a joke about half the time, so that's nothing new. Doesn't matter though, Moss jogging down the field with his head down draws two defensive backs and that helps your offense out either way.
dbair1967;3600663 said:In the games I've seen him play so far this yr, nobody is doing anything special because Moss is out there.
Stop with the Moss is God junk...he's always been a loser, and yet another coach is apparently figuring that out.
Moss = no championships
dbair1967;3600670 said:I have, and nobody is double or triple teaming him...they dont have to, 1 because isnt the same player anymore and 2 he doesnt try
He's a loser...always has been, always will be...
koolaid;3600669 said:This is super cool. Favre has wanted to play with Moss forever. I hope it happens and they both shut up the haters.
DOUBLE WING;3600671 said:Well I don't know what games you've been watching. Just LAST NIGHT on MNF they showed how he was drawing coverage of the safeties and allowing guys like Welker and Ben Tate to run free.
Like I said before - let's see this offense without Moss drawing double and triple teams. Welker goes back to being a 60 catch, 600-yard guy like he was in Miami and we're going to stop hearing all this talk about the Gronkowski's and Hernandez's of the world.
