OT but wow: Vikings close to trading for Randy Moss

This is more likely a first round pick for Moss. NE is holding the cards and Minny is desperate. This is a classic NE move, the Raiders gave up a 1st for Seymour. Minny is known for this too (H. Walker trade). Favre is pushing for this deal, lot of leverage for the Patriots (who are having to sacrifice a lot as far this season is concerned.) I smell a 1st round pick for Moss, pending Minny bringing Moss' agent down from the clouds on a long term mega deal.

The comments on here about Moss being a bad WR are comical.

So are the comments we shouldn't worry about the Vikings game. They just happen to be the team that kicked our *** in the playoffs last year and sent us home.

My point wasn't that Woodhead SHOULD be doubled, it was that Moss MUST be. At least the Dolphins seemed to think so.

That could also be an indictment of the Dolphins secondary. I for one would feel comfortable leaving Jenkins or Newman on Moss one on one.

This would make the Vikes the favorite again.

Moss is a once in a decade player.

a 1ST rounder for moss would be stupid, at some point you have to stop thinking short term and think about what you're going to have down the road. You can get a young impact skill player or a future QB with a 1st rounder.

Jenkins maybe I could see, and definitely not the entire game. Newman (take a look at my avatar), while a great cover corner, has always had problems with the guys that go up and fight for the ball. His ball awareness is definitely not his strong suit. And this is what Moss excels at, he's probably the best of all time in that department.

You guys keep forgetting that its BFarvre trying to throw the ball to him. I dont see how Favre is even CLOSE to what Moss is leaving in NE...ala Brady.

Brady is hands down a better QB than Favre ever was. Still is...wayyy better.

If Brady can't get it out of Moss, why do you guys think BFfAvre will?

3rd for Moss would be a steal. I'm not a big fan of Moss but for a 3rd,it's a great deal for Minny if it happens.

47 rec, 865 yards, 10 TD in 12 postseason games -- and he "doesn't do much in the postseason" ?? :laugh1: Okaaaay...

.

so thats less than 4 catches a game...also only 3 games of over 100 yds, and none since 2000

images of him loafing down the field are more memorable than any positive plays he's made in the postseason

this is what I dont get either...Brady is VASTLY superior to Favre right now...Favre has looked utterly washed up so far this yr...he also doesnt seem to have any arm strength...Moss is basically a one route guy, and Favre probably cant get it to him on that one route anymore...never mind the fact that their OL is pretty lousy in pass protection

The guy has demolished us over and over on his own...especially with that vendetta he has for Dallas passing him up.

I don't like his attitude, but I haven't seen anything that shows he wouldn't be a huge upgrade for Minnesota.

I can see why New England would do this but, and maybe it's just silly on my part and I'll accept it if that turns out to be the case, but this gives me a really bad feeling.

I can just see it in my head, and feel it, that Moss and Favre will start tearing it up together if this happens.

Jerry Rice didn't retire until he was 42 and took the Raiders to a Super Bowl and made the Pro Bowl the same year AT 40. Moss is 33. Do the math.

I still think Farve is washed up.....he had his carreer year last year that surprised me....

I just dont see the same Farve this year.....Moss will help ....but minny has other issues. I dont know why Minny just doesnt wait for Rice to get healthy.....unless of course Im missing something and he is done for the year....

Would you say Michael Irvin "didn't do much" in the postseason? Moss' yards per game in the postseason is only about 10 yards below Irvin's and Moss has two more postseason touchdown receptions than Irvin does in four less games.

Don't overlook the fact that Moss' first few postseason games in the NFL were spent lugging around the rotting carcass' of Jeff George and Randall Cunningham.

IF you only give up a 3rd for Moss and you also get Rice back later then he will be a Luxury.

I think he's more injured than washed up. He has no confidence in that ankle and is wearing himself out trying to compensate for it. Not making excuses for the guy, but he hasn't had the greatest protection and the playcalling hasn't exactly helped him out. Sidney Rice isn't there and the only guy he trusts is Shiancoe.
