Mills does not appear to offer much in the way of swing tackle. I question the signing and it appears to be a desperate move with having lost Gibson to the Chiefs.
It doesn't have anything to do with Gibson (who we didn't lose we just didn't keep) or being desperate. This is all about covering Green while not completely recovered from his injury.

Escobar hasn't had a chance to show his stuff. Claiborne had injury issues, low intelligence, low confidence issues and his technique needed a lot of work. That's a lot of negatives for a guy you gave up 2 high picks for

The entire point of my post went over your head, I'm afraid.

That's not beating around the bush. I wonder if we are rueing the departure of Parnell?

Sure we miss having him, but he signed for 32 million with the Jaguars on 5 year deal. We didn't like him nearly that much.

Brinkley was a stiff, 30-year-old linebacker. Darion Weems is 27 and still might have his best football ahead of him as a tackle.

I get what you're saying but just based on production Brinkley had a much better preseason. Plus the commitment they gave to him salary wise is why I was surprised by it. People say Brinkley was terrible, but Weems was the one that was terrible in my eyes.

If we paid Parnell, Free probably would have played for almost nothing.

Their contracts really aren't that different.

Weems was putrid but Brinkley wasn't much better. The contract was a panic move before McClain got signed and Wilson and Gachkar showed talent.

Neither one of them would ever see the field.

Broaddus' tweets were never completely clear whether it was a trade they were pursuing, a free agent, another waiver claim besides Jordan Mills, etc., but I think this would have been AFTER the Cowboys put in the claim for Mills, so another tackle could still be in play. Check out the link below, they may be working someone out in the morning?? Not sure.

That last Broaddus tweet if true would indicate Weems is on very thin ice. I didn't watch the Texans game but it seems that performance probably burst his bubble.

Broaddus just mentioned they were bringing in Charles Brown. I assume for a workout.

Yes, but what else could have been done about it? If Parnell were here Free wouldn't be and we'd still be struggling to find a swing tackle behind Parnell. Sucks Dallas couldn't keep both, but that wasn't happening.
