Twitter: Our aspiring FG kicker went 4 out of 11 today

If he fails in next week's game then churn baby churn. the other guy seems pretty average but that is not the worst outcome.

just awful

To me, if the cry babies want to cry, THIS is what they should be focusing on. To me this is the #1 issue for this team. We all know how important kicking is. McPherson for the Bengals last year nearly kicked that team to a SB win. I know so many keep giving the credit to Burrows, but he was along for the ride for the most part.

Kicker is an area where Jerry again falls short. If we dont find a veteran to come in it could cost us 2 or 3 games.

The frustrating thing about kickers is that its 95% mental. You can't really know what they are gonna do until they start doing it when it matters. But its clear that neither kicker is 100% confident in there kicking. We will probably be looking for a new kicker over the next several weeks
I love it when posters just make up stuff. It's 95% mental. So his plant foot has nothing to do with it. His follow through has nothing to do with it. Where his foot strikes the ball has nothing to do with it. How about we say it's mainly mechanics. Can he repeat the same mechanical movements enough to be trusted?

Speed dial :

Jerry : “ Dan ? Dan Bailey , this is Jerry Jones owner general manager of the Dallas Cowboys ….ya busy Monday ? I have a plane can pick you right up bring you to Sunny Oxnard ….sound good ? “

 :flagwave:

Man, they should hold a try out in europe. Invite all those minor league goal keepers who can't move but shoot, and see who's capable of placing an egg between two posts from 40 yards 100 out of 100 times. Hire him. Profit.

That's mental dude. Do you really think having a strong leg is gonna help you plant your foot?

You can call it mechanics. But you still have to have the mental fortitude to line up and execute the proper mechanics every single time. Regardless of the pressure, or situation.

Unless your argument is that Fossil is such a bad coach that he can't even get a kicker to learn the basic mechanics to make more than 50% of his kicks before training camp?

There's got to be some guys out there.
