Our Biggest Problem? We have no heart!!!!

If the problem is lack of heart, intensity, or overall confusion, while the players do deserve some share of the blame, doesn't the majority of the responsibility lie with the management for not having the troops better prepared and motivated?

Better prepared, Yes, but I ask you......is self motivation no longer in vogue?

And I respectfully answer that it may have fallen out of vogue in the recent past due to the treatment of pro athletes like superstars, and the absurd amount of money that they are paid ...

Sir, That point I will not argue at all. :)

Sure the players feed off Tom Landry excitement. :lmao: There are many different coaches around the league and not everyone is some idiot jumping around on the sideline doing his cheerleader routine. These are Pros and they are paid damn good to go out and do a job. Our player lack emotions because they are screwing up which gives no one a reason to be excited. None of this was an issue when we were going 5-1 now it is? Sorry it has every thing to do with their play not their emotions.

Right, football is not an emotional sport at all.

Trust me, Landry had FIRE ! Fire to excel, fire to compete, and fire to win.

I didn't say a coach had to jump around like a cheerleader.

I love watching Ray Lewis, he brings it !! He shows that he loves playing the game, and he demands it of those around him.

Same with Cowher, he doesn't act like a cheerleader, but you can tell he is really involved and his teams play with emotion.

I think our team has talent, add some emotion to that talent and it might make a difference.

Emotions without making plays is false. You make plays players are excited you mess up and players start hanging their heads. This ideal that you give a speech and all of a sudden your going to play good is BS. It comes down to players making plays not the bunch of rah rah BS. As for Landry I don't need to trust you I watched him and there was no rah rah he was all business and his players went out and took care of that business. I agree emotions play a part but emotions come from making plays to just say I'm pumped up or jumping up and down is not going to do a damn thing, making plays is what gets players fired up

I'm not going to debate whether emotion, fire, passion or desire are a part of football or not.

Parcells lacks some of that at times, and so does his team.

We look disinterested at times.

That is disappointing.

I think you create the emotions by your play not the other way around. The picture on the sidelines is of a team that is messing up and giving up big plays and that is seen by every team in the league when they are screwing up.

They sell these at the local candy stores.

I suggest Bill buy a ton of them and force feed them to our players before Saturday's game.

i think Parcells would eat them all before any of the players could even get the snif of one...

i think it's more we are a very young team overall and dont' have veteran leadership to pull us out of the muck we're in. someone who's been there and done it.

lets face facts, without Romo's streak, our season would be readskins-like and our highest paid players are not leaders. Bledsoe, TO, Roy, vanderjerk, etc.

We also had our defensive "leader" and captain in a new position and unfortunately on IR for the past several weeks. Neither of our player voted captains have taken the field in months.

someone is falling victim to ESPN hype.

Ray and co. have done nothing in years after a one-hit wonder season.

Cowher took almost two decades to do something and benefited from alot of breaks and help by the refs vs seattle.

all these guys "emotion" in almost three decades combined got their teams TWO superbowl victories. it's not like these guys piloted any DYNASTY or anything jeez.

Gee, I thought benching Bledsoe was gonna solve all the team problems...?

Me ?? Buying into anything from ESPN, ... you have no clue how ridiculous that is.

We were talking about what part 'emotion, fire, passion' plays in football, and I gave two examples of emotional, passionate guys, ... -vs- Parcells standing lifeless on the sidelines.

No where did I suggest this translated into wins.

Try to keep up.

hehe.. but it's not so ridiculous based on what you just typed.

you just stated EYE CANDY might be more important than results ;)

Are you serious, you don't get it ??

Emotion in and of itself does not translate into wins, but if a talented team plays more with desire & emotion instead of playing lifeless and flat, ... that might.

If you don't realize what I am talking about, or have not noticed that some football players/teams do play with emotion then disregard my post.

Can someone tell me exactly where this team draws its inspiration from? Every week of every season, we go out and ho hum through our games, and seemingly don't care whether we win or lose... I know the players really do care, but why not play like you care on the field, instead of complaining about why you didn't win after the game? I was watching "In their own words" of Parcells, and it seems to me that the fiery, get in your face, my way or the highway coach isn't there anymore. Other than the occasional death stare to someone who makes a mistake, when was the last time anyone saw him in a players face telling him to get his act together, or he's gone? I can't remember. So again, it begs the question, why does this team continue to play with no HEART?
