Our receivers can not get open.

They got open quite a bit on the series where Roy got popped. Tony simply overthrew or threw behind them.

his passing game is suited to have troy aikman at qb, emmitt smith at rb and micheal irvin at wr.

he couldn't win with them either... Aikman never threw from shot-gun... Norv never let Aikman run around making plays... Norv ran flares up the middle and had an effective play-action... Garrett is Mike Martz Jr...

An honest question WV.

Where would you look, ultimately?

Garrett and the WR corps.

We need a threat at WR.

Definitely need more speed at wr. This current wr group just doesn't have the explosiveness needed to be a consistant downfield threat. This problem will have to be addressed in next years draft or thru free agency. Can't really do too much about it this year. Just hope the Cowboys passing game somehow improves as the season progresses.

We had WRs open all game, Romo couldnt hit them to save his life. I am tired of defending this guy he gave this game away.

Yeah he did. He held the ball too long and overthrew several receivers. He was under pressure a lot, but that's part of the game. When they gave him time, he blew it. I am very disappointed right now.

Teams we beat = 0-8
Teams we lost to = 8-0

Both losses were in the last seconds. I don't know what to make of this.

When Troy Aikman, from the vantage of the broadcast booth, exclaims that Cowboys receivers are not getting open, I am going with Troy on that, 10 times out of 10.

So since Troy is know all be all. What happened on those plays when Tony absolutely couldnt hit the WIDE OPEN WR and also got ole RW obliterated.

Anyone?

We already know that... But telling us why they don't get open is a different issue altogether, and I'm quite sure Aikman doesn't find it kind to call out his buddy JG...

When Romo drops back, sets up and is looking but doesn't throw the ball I can only guess that nobody is open.

I agree he missed open receivers late in the game but I wonder how much of that is due to being harassed and knocked around for the whole game because guys aren't getting open.

I can't believe nobody can get open, but it seems to be an issue.

Amendola had 1 catch for 8 yds today for the Rams....we should've never let him go.

On some drives, they were open, but Tony flat out missed them. On others, they were stymied by the coverage. Common sense tells me that Tony's not gonna hold the ball for a sack if guys are routinely open.

Our receivers can not get seperation, and so therefore our offense bogs down.

Why can our WR's NEVER get open, unless it is a broken play?

We have to look long and hard at ourselves when Kyle Orton and a first year HC beats you.

I think that is the main problem. The WRs are pedestrian. Romo is not the problem.

Troy also said that Romo was missing badly on his passes to receivers. I agree that receivers weren't getting open early but in the 4th quarter there were plays to be made and Romo didn't make them.

The problem with our receivers is that none of them run good routes. Not one of them knows how to sell a route and get open.

Its all about having a threat...

We let TO go.....because of lockerroom issues.....supposely...

but we lost the threat....it opened the field for other players that are running pass plays...

Witten even mentioned it......and now....the only threat is Witten and he cant do it all by himself.

I really thought the RW trade was a good one....but I was wrong.....u dont pay for a player that blocks well but cant beat man coverage. No matter how good his hands are....if he isnt getting seperartion....Romo wont throw it.

Then coaching has to be held accountable as well.

What are they doing all week in practice?

Romo lost his mojo, it has nothing to do with the receivers. :banghead:

At this point I think it's beyond the receivers, now it seems more like an issue of scheming to me. Teams with talent similar to ours still find ways to get their receivers open. Unless you want to tell me our team is similar in talent to dead-offenses like the Browns and Chiefs, then I say its scheming.

Granted, watching Roy run his "routes" was painful.
