Pacman Jones visited strip club before April hearing...*update*

Last time I checked, looking at nude women dancing for you was not illegal.

Last time I checked, nobody is going to jail for it either.

Playing in the NFL is a privilage, not a right. You can go to strip clubs till the Cows come home, so to speak. In fact, most players probably do. For one "Pacman Jones", he can continue to go to clubs all he wants. He just can't go to them and still be part of the NFL. Simple as that.

Do we need to go down Pacman's list of things that are?!?!?

I guess some people forget where he was the most recent time he got into trouble?

Amazingly short memories for some people.....

It has more to do with LEARNING then it does being legal.

Maybe he's a sex addict and has to go to strip bars.

Nothing I hate more than the holier than thou types you see on so many webboards.

It's not as simple as that. Any player can go to a strip club. They won't be suspended. No one was suspended for going to a strip club.

I heard the rest on the radio, but I didn't hear this. Why would there be extra suspension? If Goodell knew about the incident the night before, then that should already be taken into account in his suspension. He shouldn't just come back a few months later and say, "You know what? I think I'll add another year suspension just cause I feel differently now."

I'm waiting on the suspension of Vick to come down. He should get at least 5 games. If not, Goodell is as yellow as it gets. Either that or he may realize now that he overreacted in the first instance.

Have we heard about Tank Johnson's suspension yet?

I agree, if they're tacking on just because he went to a strip club, or because Goodell has changed his mind and now doesn't think Pac-Man is contrite enough, this is getting pathetic, and Goodell is getting out of control.

He's already set a standard for what happens off the field being more important than the assault that happens on it. Let's see what other ridiculous stances he can take in the future.

Maybe hes not a sex addict.

Maybe hes a just a dumb kid who thinks he gets a free pass because he has money and fame.

It's called freedom.

Let him leave the NFL behind, then he's 'free' to do whatever legal thing he wants.

Either

A: he doesn't understand just how serious of trouble he is in with both law officials and the league.

or

B: he just doesn't care.

Geez. I really like this new commish, putting his foot down and saying shape up.

Or

C: He has a strip club addiction/fetish.:laugh2: Addictions is uncontrollable and.... addicting:laugh1:

This guy is a friggin idiot.

Yeah, I guess some people are right, going to a strip club is not illegal. However, sitting in a parked car next to a school yard isn't illegal either, but if you are accused of being a pedophile, you wouldn't do it anyway just because it was legal. Obviously this is an extreme case, but I think it gets the point across.

Since his problems stem from a strip club, going to one just before an appeal where you are going to say you've sworn it off shows that you didn't learn anything.

The appeal is tomorrow. Pacman Jones was at the strip club on the night before his last meeting with Roger Goodell.

I guess you heard wrong.

It is exactly that simple. The commish has leeway in this matter to judge based on exhibited behavior. In the case of PacMan, he is exhibiting the kind of hehavior that has gotten him into the trouble he is in now. There is a certain amount of remorse and rehabilitation, if you will, that must be shown. In the case of PacMan, it has not been demonstrated.

Other players can go to clubs just as I said earlier. PacMan can not because he has shown that he can not be trusted to represent the Business (NFL) appropriatly. This is not uncommen. Because he is a public figure, you might say that he represents the NFL 24x7. The NFL has the right to protect the interests of the business. It is Goodell's call.

This argument is pointless. He's free to go to as many strip clubs as he wants. He can erect one in his own living room if he likes, so long as he follows all applicable laws. He was never suspended for going to a strip club. The NFL isn't that stupid.

PACMAN JONES WAS NOT SUSPENDED BECAUSE HE WENT TO A STRIP CLUB.

What don't you get?

He was suspended because of what he did the last time he was in a strip club and many other things.

You guys wasting your time arguing about something from April :laugh2:

Hey, I'm not saying anything about suspending him because he went to another strip club. You guys are right that there's nothing illegal about it.

I'm commenting that it's obvious that if he did, he still doesn't 'get it' and probably never will.

And if he keeps doing down that road, he'll never be reinstated into the league.
